Hi, I have an auction up on Yahoo and want to see how it looks to a bidder. Don't seem to find a way even though I have the auction # and tried to search for it. Sort of new at this and slow. Thank you for any help.

dana71 Hi, I am not sure if this is what you are looking for or not, but try logging out first and then search for the auction without logging in again. This way, you will be able to view the auction the same way that anyone else would.

Not labbie1 at Yahoo, but I wish I was!

Thanks labbie 1, You were so right. It took me awhile but now I know I have to 'sign out'in order to see what a bidder sees. (Finally tried Advance Search and that's where I found I could put in the item #....
Does it follow that when I am 'signed in' and put an auction on Yahoo, that I will always have to 'sign out' if I want to go from there to find an item I wish to buy???
That may sound convoluted , but that's the way I see it. Thanks for helping. Dana71

Hi dana,

No, you don't have to sign out to go shopping. In fact, you need to stay signed in to be able to bid.

Happy Shopping!

Hi Dana, sorry! I forgot to turn on my e-mail and missed your question.

Sign out only to look at your own auctions, but sign in to browse for items that you want to buy.

Sounds like you are finding your way around really well.

Thanks labbie1 for the encouragement. Going into my 2nd year on the computer and learning something new every day ! Especially with good people like you ! ! !
I keep a small telephone # file on my desk and use the cards to jot down HINTS for Yahoo, Ebay, Smilies, etc etc.etc.because memory is too full and fails me a lot........but boy, all of this keeps me going.!
I think I will start a post with that as a suggestion for others who can't remember well...is that a good idea? Dana71

I remember when I first got the internet (been doing computers since they took up a whole room for a lot less power than you have sitting on your desk top! ) and I honestly thought my head would explode for a while!

I think your card file idea is great! Everyone has a different system. I use an old address book for all of my logins and passwords for the different sites and e-mails, etc. I put it under the correct letter tab for the name of the site--Yahoo=Y tab, etc. You just need a name and password for EVERYTHING these days!
