I read it!
OK, what is he referring to at the end when he says "16 other auction businesses worldwide?" any ideas?
Yes, about PAyDirect he DID say "free" with no hemming and hawing, didn't he?
My boyfriend has been recycling the Wall Street Journal faster than I can read it...I never realized that there was a shift in the Yahoo auction team till just now...but do you guys think a lot of these changes are coming about because of this new guy? When he says they plan to listen to the users I do believe him; but things have just been changing so darned fast that my head is spinning!

I do wish the interviewer had asked about the (lack of) order.
My guess is that they did not ask / did not comment on this point because it is being reviewed and as I have said before, I wholly expect to wake up one morning (let it be tomorrow) and find the listings ordered by ending time again. Hate to go one record today touting the new system only to reverse it tomorrow. I really think we will wake up and it will be like a bad dream has ended.

Actually I think Paydirect will most likely stay free for the little auction seller. Paydirect was made more for the big business that sell through Yahoo. I am talking Barnes and Noble that kind of think. Yahoo was built by good home folk kind of people from Allentown Pa. There are out to make a buck like anyone else but they seem to do it honestly and fairly. Unlike other business we know on the web. Instead of pounding the money from the little guy. Paydirect makes the money of the big guys (corporations) and they are more then will to pay them for their services because they are a long-standing (for the Internet anyway Yahoo is old) professional and reliable force to work with. They could as they state turn over to a pay system in time for auctions sellers, but I kind of doubt it.

tracyg - I agree with you and I wish more people understood this. They lump Paydirect with Payplace and Exchangepath and it does not belong. Paydirect is part of a much larger whole with very long term vision and BY FAR the most likely not to screw people runnin' a month down the road.
