Not cash you can spend on dinner
But if you go to this link: http://auctions.yahoo.com/phtml/auc/us/promo/ratings_featured.html

You can get dollars in your Yahoo! Wallet Account that can be used for featured auction promotions on their site.

The way it works is you get one dollar for every feedback you have on ebaY or Amazon or any site other than Yahoo!.

It's free to get it, but you have to set up a Yahoo! Wallet account and you have to register, etc. etc.

You can't use feedback from "any other site", just ebay and Amazon, since those are the only "options" given. And it doesn't appear you can use feedback from BOTH, unless you submit the form TWICE---once for each auction.

Does this REMOVE the feedback from the source site or just copy it?

msmas, Yahoo merely verifies the current number of your feedback on the site you choose. It does not copy the feedback itself or erase it from the other site.

granee, you can only transfer feedback one time, so choose the site with the higher number.

I'm coRnfused. What else is new. Are you saying if I have 604 feedback on ebay, I will have $604 worth of featuring auctions on Yahoo?

BTW, I did it. Now I'm looking everywhere but I don't see the credit. Where is it supposed to show?

I was wondering the same thing. Does anyone know where it will show up? I didn't see anything in my Yahoo wallet. Melanie

heygrape, that's exactly right -
$604.00 credit for a feedback rating of 604.

As I recall, it took a day or two for the credit to show up in my account. When you sign into your MyYahoo page, check My Account; if it isn't there, then look in your Yahoo Wallet in a day or so.

FYI...I filled in the form and sent it back to Y! on Friday. Today I received a verifying email address message from Customer Care that said my feedback would be applied after I responded to that message to verify my email. So I would guess that maybe tomorrow it will show up.

I got the same message as ladyjane!

See if I get $600+ of featured auctions?

Might help? No sales or bids, since last deadbeat on 17 September!

Made a mistake it would be 800+ with repeat transactions!

Okay, dumb question...how do you see what is in the wallet? All I can find is the area that allows you to change name, address, credit card, etc.

labbie - click "feature an auction" and on top the slot where you put the ammount it says "check my balance".

That'll do it.

I had to sign up for a "wallet" before I could do this [which I haven't yet]. Once it was created, I got a message saying I have 500 "points". Will I be able to use those points towards featured placement payments, also?

Keziak - Yahoo "points" is something different. You get them when you shop merchants at Yahoo shopping and probably other ways I am not aware of also.

Then you take your points and bid for various premiums. I would not pay the 500 points much mind, you need a zillion to actually get a premium and the premiums are not especially worth having.

Just an update for those of you waiting for your feedback credits: Mine were there today, and apparently they were posted yesterday, which is when I got the email from Yahoo; I found mine by going to the billing summary.

YAHOOOO!!! Now I can keep on featuring

I saw this notice about free credits yesterday and I'm using my credits today...based on a review of my YAHOO monthly billing account sheet which I checked a little while ago, YAHOO credited my entire 1067 ebay feedback and is even covering the featured auctions that I obligated to before I signed up for the credits.

YAHOO!!

Huh?? What marketing geniuses- can they use the customer base emails in our f/back? Last thing I want is a complaint that I sold my f/back email add's to Yahoo.

No, not being negative - always cautious. I like mo money just like anyone else - but it can only be spent on features correct?? It's a great way to enthuse us to use features I guess. If we all use features, won't we STILL be in the same pecking order we were before --- HIGHEST wins top listing??

It's quite a contest now to keep listers. Ebay now has a University in Las Vegas for instruction on how to sell on ebay....can you beat that?? Now we need a PHD - to list auctions - LOL

I just went to check and have not seen anything in my account!

I featured one ending in 3.84 days and it billed my CC $0.38 at the $0.10/day rate!

I have over 500 feed back on E-bay which I submitted!

I think this could be part of the CC registration to help get folks hooked on featuring!

I have seen folks featuring $3.00 items in matchbox at the $0.10 per day rate! That would be $1.00 worth of fees if it doesn't sell and $0.50 if it does on a ten day auction?

33% of possible sale cost is a pretty big gamble unless they got the items for free?

If one puts 100 low end items up at the $0.10 per day rate for ten days ($1 per item that doesn't sell)that would be $100 to Yahoo the way things are moving at present!

When I receive the credits I will give it a go, but I really do not know if it will be very cost effective on $6 to $20 items?

Unless of course ones supply is exuberantly cheap!

PS: I have E-mailed Karin twice to confirm my E-mail address yesterday!

Well, I appreciate the information, and went over and signed up.

Not sure what I am going to do with it since I don't feature auctions, don't seem to need to at this time, might try some around Christmas, but I have found things selling quite well without paying for a feature.

In 9 months I think I have only featured a couple of items and I don't think any of them sold. I just post and things seem to sell I their own time without the feature.

Using "Feature" when it is only $.10 means everyone can afford it, and use it, and it isn't really something special any longer, just a long list of "featured" items.

At eBay it is so expensive, at least it does set your auction apart - but then only if your buyers search by categories, which I don't think many buyers do anymore.

I can't tell if I have my credits or not. When I click "Check My Current Balance" I get the message, "Could not access db. Site temporarily down or bad userID."

Going to my Wallet only lets me edit my profile information. Where is the "billing summary" or "monthly billing account"?

granee - that is where the info is, you just have to keep checking.

edit to add - you know Yahoo...

warr - the mb people are just spending someone else's money freely. I see people paying $1.50 a day when the number two seller is paying 35 cents. Who knows what they're thinking? Probably that they have $3800 worth of credit from Yahoo and so they have no need to be frugal.

On your credit - it takes several days to show up and you will get an email to verify your address first.

granee...When you're on your auction page, click on "options", then click on "billing summary". I signed up (2) days ago, but I haven't heard anything back from them yet.

toyranch..Thank you for posting this. I never would have known it if you hadn't..
