What else is there to say? Since throwing features charges at us, gave quotas on listings, jamming CCs down everyones throat,or they can't bid, put low % sales listers on the bottom of search, rumors about wanting our SS# it has crunched sales to practically zero, driven sellers and bidders away-- to tell the truth,
WHAT IS GOOD about Yahoo, somebody pleease tell me?
Is this now going to be known as "*S*c*r*e*w*hoo"?

FREE MEANS IT COSTS MORE.............

I was paid for 6 of the 10 Yahoo auctions I closed this weekend via Paydirect.
Things are looking up.

Yahoo did not THROW feature charges at anyone. In the past you could not feature if you wanted, now you have a choice. Take it or leave it.
Same thing with credit cards. Nothing is being jammed anywhere - logging on the site is voluntary last time I checked.

VM- Put your dukes down- not looking for a fight here. Just read 9 out of 10 posts here. There is a mass exodus back to ebay. CC ARE NOT voluntary - a bidder MUST register one to bid. It went FROM A FREE SITE to clever ways to extract $ and information from both bidder and seller. Let's face it, we all came here cuz it was free- thinking that since it was a Search Engine- that all it wanted was the heavy traffic for its clients.

Notice that all the FREE ISPs Yahoo were pushing come and go like the daily newspaper?? They are big businesses and if THEY can't hack it here - it should tell us something. Yahoo had a good thing and I do hope it can be salvaged - since Ebay would be a LAST resort for most of us.

Methinks it's time for a new kid on the block auction.

not fighting ioughta - I just have a different opinion.

Methinks Yahoo has a future.

If in fact there has been a mass exodus back to ebay, many of those sellers will be back and it won't take long. Couple of bills for auctions closed unsold or a couple of romps through the NPB process'll do it.

I thought it had a future over two years ago! But they just went backward that much!

VM as you said in another post I hope I wake up and it is just a night mare and the viewing order will be back by end time!

I believe the revamp of categories as well as viewing order did not help much either!

No bids, since 17 September and that was by a deadbeat bidder who won seven auctions!

The GRINCH is not going to steal Christmas!

Personally I find Yahoo better than ever.
I love the yahoo direct, so fast and so many payers..And I know now that bidders aren't going to be db's...
Sales are picking up again and what I really notice is no more piles of things waiting for monies, it's just instant pay and instant ship...
I'll take Yahoo any day to Ebay, sales are just as good for me...And I'm selling everything but the kitchen sink(too heavy to ship)!

"put low % sales listers on the bottom of search"

hhmmm. I haven't heard about this one. I have noticed that sales have dropped a bit the last few weeks.

I do really like where they are going with some of the new features. Just hope they get the bugs worked out and the bidders come back.

I admit that I still like Yahoo better, but I have been forced to split my sales between Ebay & Yahoo. I am a relative "newbie" to Yahoo, & although my feedback rating is 100% positive, it is still well under 100- and these changes have taken a huge bite out of my sales since I sell in categories that are packed full of listings. My items are ending with very few page views and my sales have slowed WAAAAAAAYYYY down since the changes have been implemented. I'm happy for those of you who are doing well, but I personally am very frustrated. I'm now listing as much on Ebay as I am on Yahoo & am frustrated there as well. I'm just all around frustrated!!!

I think the posting limits are stupid. Also, what the F^(*&#@$ are they doing requirng BIDDERS to register with credit cards? I can understand sellers, tomake sure you don't skip town with people's money, but bidders??? Totally bad move! Especially since they didn't grandfather it in. Even bidders with good feedback ratings have to list their credit cards or they can't bid anymore. What the crap is this?

Well, the general consensus here is that Yahoo's meddling and peddling have caused nothing but trouble. As for ebay requiring CC from bidders - did some checking and "not so". ONLY if you are using an anonymous email service (NON-ISP) LIKE YAHOO, HOTMAIL, and several others. A person who wishes to use their ISP mail service is NOT required to register a CC. I read this 2 days ago in registration R&R

It is looking HOPELESS here...1 and 2 view per item and I browsed some fabulous listings. OK Yahoo-- NOW WHAT???

Has anyone voiced their discontent directly to Yahoo?

Here is my ans from Susan at Yahoo...Not very impressed:

Thank you for your email.

What I think what we have here is nothing but the complainers, as I have found the innovations on Yahoo have only made it better, more sales, closing faster, and less dead beats.

As an eBay Power Seller, who sought better pastures about 9 months ago, I have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow at Yahoo.

I'll admit the limitation on auctions initially concerned me, but I quickly found it didn't limit us at all and we run 200 plus auctions on Yahoo all the time on a 2 day close basis.

So if you don't like the changes, don't whine and complain, just go back and pay eBay!

I LOVE YAHOO!

If in fact there has been a mass exodus back to ebay>>

I still don't understand why people compare ebay and yahoo. I sell on both I like both of them and I make money on both of them. However, I know they are 2 different kinds of markets so I don't treat them the same way. I treat ebay as an auction and Yahoo as a store front. I could if I wanted to feature an item on Yahoo. I don't. Never have although it has been a choice for quite some time.

I am glad that Yahoo requires a CC now for some it will cut down on the deadbeats. Not that I have ever gotten a lot of them but more then on Ebay. I think the CC requirement is an improvement.

I don't mean to sound mean or anything like that, but when my sales are going down or slumping, I always look at what can I do different? What has changed and how do I need to change with it? How am I marketing my product? How can I make mine sounds better then the other guys? What kind of incentive can I give to buyers to increase my bottom line? What are successful sellers doing? How can I stand out from the crowd? I can only control the way I do things, not the way others do things. Whining about Yahoo, Ebay or any other service I chose to sell my stuff through will not increase my line of revenue. As they change so must I. As the market changes so must I. Etc . . .

Yahoo is changing I believe for the better and the end result I believe will be increased sales for all.

HEY TRACEYG!!! Your statement about the difference between Y and E intrigues me. Please elaborate on it for me?? I am a relative newbie to auctions and don't understand why I do well on E and not on Y or A??? You sound very knowledgeable and I would value your insight and opinion into this. No one else has really been of any real concrete help. THANKSS!!! Bif
