I received the following e-mail and thought you should be aware...
***********
Hello,
I looked at your feedback profile on the EBay.com and think you can help me.
I live in Holland and selling accounting software. For now, I have some clients from USA, who want to buy software and will pay by Exchangepath.
I visited Exchangepath's web page and clearly understood that I can't register, because I'm non-US resident.
My offer: My clients will send money to your Exchangepath account. You withdraw money and wire transfer it to my offshore bank account in the XXXX Bank ( http://www.XXXX.com ). Your interest from a total amount is 10%
Total amount will be about $6000, maybe even more.
All transactions will appear within 3 (three) days.
If you're agree, please send me your confirmation and Exchangepath's account e-mail address.
******************
I am reading "CREDIT CARD SCAM" all over it!

labbie-I hope you forward this to Exchangepath. If you follow any of the threads on eBay, or on the OWTA board, you'll see a long running saga about this scam. Whether you want to believe the world has "turnips" or not, apparantly this poor lady fell for it and is now going to be paying dearly.
Maybe you can save someone a hard lesson learned and alert the payment service that a scam using THEIR service is out there.

You know, I never thought of sending it to ExchangePath! I will do that right away! Thank you for the thought.
Actually, I didn't hear about the scam that you allude to. I am so sorry to hear that someone was hurt by this!
Please be careful everyone!

labbie1,
You haven't heard about the same scam chronicled on OWTA??? I thought that's why you POSTED your email here---as a JOKE!
At least you aren't as *naive* as that other woman. (Actually, she was *more than* naive....she must have gotten a BAD CONCUSSION when SHE fell off that truck!!!!!)

granee No, I didn't read about it and I have not been over on the Ebay boards for a long time! This is a REAL e-mail that was sent to me yesterday at my Ebay e-mail addy. I am sending it along with headers to ExchangePath and if the e-mail addy belongs to an Ebay user (doubtful) I will send the thing to Ebay as well. I didn't even think about doing those things until Sulyn mentioned it.

Okay, ladies and gentlemen--I processed this mail and it is originating in Buffalo, NY. Does anyone have the e-mail address or phone number of the FBI?

"where is the OWTA?"
Actually that is OTWA.
And probably not the same people involved as that was a Romanian and involved PayPal, but the same scam.

auctionee Thanks. I also passed the e-mail along to PPD for PayPal's records just as a heads up. I would think that $6,000 or more in 3 days coming into an account that didn't always have that type of activity should be a red flag for these companies.
Anyway, I have tried to let all of the authorities know at these places.
Thanks for the help...

wonder if it's the same people trying to strike again, or a copycat of the original scammer.
Either way, I hope the scammer(s) can be stopped. This is the kind of thing that ruins the entire system for everybody.
