I had my 2nd customer of the day have a problem with PayDirect, so I went into my account to see what was going on, and WHAT A SHOCK! I was asked to verify my alternate e-mail address....WHICH WAS NOT MINE - NOTHING LIKE MINE!
What I'd like to know is how this odd ball address got in, passed "security" to my account in the first place!
I am not a happy camper, never had such a problem with PayPal.
Both of my customers trying to pay via PayDirect went back to pay through PayPal which is fine with me, never had a security problem there.
I am not happy with PayDirect.

Im a car audio re-seller and was also shocked today to see that Paypal is going to limit my credit card intake unless I upgrade to the "Premier" or "Business" accounts. Well I cant afford that. I mark up my auctions $5-$20 on very expensive equipment. On one big selling item alone I would have to pay my $20 profit and an additional $0.58 The only way around this is to mark up the price on the auction even more, thus not having one of the lowest prices around and perhaps losing the sale and some very nice repeat customers. Otherwise its back to cashier checks and money orders. With all the money Paypall must make on interest alone I cant see why they need to add this now too. If anyone knows of a better place that does credit card acceptance I would love to hear about them. Thanks

Davisa -- that ain't the only reason you oughtta be leaving PayPal.
I haven't been using them for very long, but I left PayPal for ExchangePath, PayPlace and Yahoo PayDirect. All are free, at least for now. ExchangePath gives $5 referrals (up to $100) and a $10 sign-up bonus (once you've completed a transaction and given a bank account or credit card number).
Be sure to include in your TOS that you're no longer accepting PayPal -- and tell your buyers why if they ask. Thousands of Sellers advertised FOR PayPal, seems only fair we spread the news ABOUT them as well.

PAYPAL is not your PAL anymore- they want to get Pierre's "just one dollar" too. I will be dumping them this week. Finally decided, that toooo many services are participating in my auctions. So will be taking a vacation from it all and doing the old send me a MO or chck until I find a reliable service.......or I just may keep it this way. I want to be "independent" and they are swooping all over us like vultures these days!

jwpc- what has happened is, your customer has sent a payment to the wrong email address. I believe that the "unverified email address" is simply PayDirect's way of notifying you that this has happened. The exact same thing happened to me, and when I called PAyDirect customer care, they told me that the customer sent payment to the wrong address. All you have to do is have the customer cancel the payment, & res-send to the correct email address, and then you should remove the incorrect email address out of your information. It's no big deal- accidents happen.

CAgirl - your explanation would be nice if true, but that is not what occurred. I've had a customer send to the wrong e-mail address and this was not Yahoo's way of notifying me - PLUS
I wouldn't have known had I not gone and logged in to my account through PayDirect's "security" process - THAT is when I was confronted with this e-mail address listed in my private account information, an address I've never head of, and address which was listed for me!
The fact is no one has sent funds to the wrong address lately, in fact I was in the account the day before and all information was correct and up to date. The following day some one or PayDirect's computers have been into my private account information, REMOVED my only alternate e-mail address and inserted a new one!
Through investigation I have now discovered that the e-mail address, that was inserted as my new alternate e-mail address is actually that of one of my customers!
Do I suspect the customer, absolutely not, this lady is one of my customers who got fed up trying to use the PayDirect system and return to PayPal so send funds.
There is no reasonable explanation of how my alternate e-mail address was changed, and how it got changed to one of my customer's addresses through a "secure" system.
Nope, it was probably some very weird computer boo boo, but I am not happy with it or the problems customers are having using PayDirect, and the other problems it seems to create.
After hundreds of no problem transactions with PayPal, I will be continuing to strongly recommend PayPal to my customers, I don't need the PayDirect hassles or lack of security.
I LOVE PAYPAL

My bidders are SHOCKED to hear about the charges for using PayPal! So I state keeping my auction cost low by offering PayDirect.
By our informing our buyers of the reason behind our decision, they understand. PayPal may have grown leaps and bounds til now but that's about to change. I noticed their latest "advertisement" err email compared themselves to Bill Point not PayDirect.
There will be a few mishaps with using PayDirect but only time will tell.
I think it may be a good idea to ask Sellers who accept PayPal if they will discount the item if the Buyer doesn't use PayPal!

I transfered my money from paydirect to my debit card and It still has not showed up ( that was over 10 days ago) I have tried exchangepath and they are fast. I do not think I will accept anymore paydirect payments It just takes to long to reach my bank account

I'd more likely give our buyers an extra or bonus if they use PayPal - I don't like the PayDirect system, I don't like this security breach, and I'd prefer my bookkeeping be all in one place, plus PayPal pays me interest for the funds left in the account (which I do as a normal rule anyway).
Just my opinion!

My transfers from PD are taking 7-8 days but I have only had one. Perhaps after the first one it will be shorter.
They took 5 from PP.
They are taking 5 days from XPath.
I use a Credit Union and that may have something to do with the time it takes for the money to arrive. I don't know. At any rate, it does arrive and my bank balance jumps.

If you don’t charge more after, and just include it in the “cost” of item as with all other “expense of doing business” then a bonus as you suggest is a great idea to keep people using it and hope you will do just that. What kind of bonus?

I am Yahoo PayDirect myself and I find it complicating. This has nothing to do with my feelings or your feelings about Paypal. I am just comparing ease of use.
Yes it maybe simple for those of us who use Yahoo PayDirect everyday but I've had several customers who are trying Yahoo PayDirect for the 1st time, e-mailing me for help & some have just given up hope.
I hate to be the Help center for PayDirect. E-mails keeps going back & forth between user & Yahoo PayDirect. What the heck is this verify user & e-mail bla bla bla?.
Why must I accept & refuse payment?. I get over 40-50 online payments a day. Its a bloody joy for me to click on accept for everyone of them.
Like I said, its just a comments on ease of usage. If you hate Paypal because Paypal screwed you up or you think they screwed you up & now worship the ground that Yahoo PayDirect walks on...has nothing to do with it. I use both services.

I think it's great that you have the option to accept or refuse payments! A customer accidently sent me 3 duplicate payments and I was very happy to be able to refuse 2 of them! In fact I'd think that you would WANT that option with PayPal! Do you really want to pay PayPal's fees three times before refunding your customer's second and third payments when that happens to you?
