Sellers who continue to offer paypal should disclose to bidders BEFORE they bid that a surcharge for using paypal will be added instead of in their email to buyers. I find that quite deceptive.
Since I helped “peddle” paypal for months now, I feel abilge to tell bidders and buyers the reason I’m NOT continuing to offer paypal. There are FEES and whether they are within the price or disclosed later if they wish to use, the fees are STILL THERE! So a HIGHER PRICE must be asked. Most Sellers I’ve come across list on Yahoo to keep cost DOWN. The same will hold true with using other FREE CC services used in conjunction.
If Sellers, as myself, are indicating this change away from paypal to our customers, they will become savvier and will ask for a discount to use a payment method other than paypal.
You can bet when I’m interested in bidding, I will post a question to “paypal offering” Seller, “What discount will you give me on this item for NOT using paypal?
I’ll probably give away my age. But I remember when bank credit cards hit the scene (I was in the CC and banking industry at the time) with Bank of America card and Master Charge….okay think back…WAY BACK. And merchants who didn’t like paying merchant fees for use (which I admit where high in comparison to today’s rates) wanted to “tack on” their charge to the cardholder. Laws governing the use stated you can offer a discount to a cash customer but not add on to the cardholder.
Sellers if you do offer paypal and wanting to charge a Buyer if they use it…be UPFRONT and DISCLOSE beforehand.

"You can use the FREE payment services of Exchangepath (which will also give you $10 on your first transaction), Payplace, Western Union's Moneyzap, Yahoo's Paydirect. No credit card? Use your checking account with Achex. Not in a hurry? Pay by check or money order.
Due to problems reported with Paypal, I only accept paypal from verified accounts (I am verified). On items of $100 and up, buyer pays 1.9% more for using paypal unless you pay from your existing balance or bank account. You must email first BEFORE sending payment. I Dont charge No FEEs for my buyer to use there credit cards at all but I havea had recently a fair amount of buyers pay with bidpay as well. seems some dont object to paying bidpay $5 fee for money orders on some bids so this is also anoption to look into.
