HI all -

Looks like several of my "test" Yahoo auctions are closing today. I've sold a few things, but overall my success rate has been a lot lower than I get on ebay. I've mostly used "first bid wins" and this week started featuring. I guess it doesn't hurt to keep trying, esp. now that I got a digital camera and won't have to keep paying for photos in order to list on Yahoo.

But I also have sort of a "what's the point?" feeling about it.

kesiak--- Most sellers come to Yahoo mainly because it's free. However, it does NOT have the activity that ebay does. Maybe it never will, but-- when I started, I listed on both sites. I gave ebay the first shot and if it didn't sell- over I came with it to Yahoo. No, it didn't sell here right away - but with multiple relistings eventually I got it up to at least 25% of successful sales.
I did the math and for every auction I sold without a fee- I used that money and went right back to ebay to pay fees.

In other words, Yahoo became my little "fee bank" for ebay. It has been about a year and things were just rolling smoothly(was up to 30% on sold item)and Blam! they pull the rug and now the CC registration for bidders and the crazy listing orders and featuring competition, has brought me right back where I was last year So, the moral here is be a multiple auction seller.

I will now go back to using my OWN float from Yahoo to afford listing my "pretty sure higher ticket winners" on ebay.
That is about the size of it as I see the math these days....Wish I could say it will recover quickly from the CC fiasco but already getting emails from disgruntled bidders who REFUSE to put their CC online...

Yes definately keep listing on yahoo you are loseing nothing and the longer you list gets the more bids will come.

look at it this way for every item you successfully sell on yahoo is a dollar or more you save on selling your Item.

ioughta: I cant say all my money from yahoo sales goes to paying my ebay fees at all if I depended on that I would be Out of business. for the past 4 month ebay has kept my hopes for online auction alive most the bids I pick up on yahoo these days are from new users who hit on my low price .50 and $1 items and pay just for the rateings.

I do treat these new buyer nice though some day their $1 bids might lead to larger buys from me or other yahoo sellers such as your self .
