Today I boo-booed and listed an item in the wrong category. I cancelled the auction and tried to resubmit it in the correct category with the same title. I got the error message referenced above: "You have recently submitted another listing with the same title....". What's up with this? Can we only list one item of a kind at a time, unless we have a different title for each item?

I never had that problem, but I suspect you could relist it with an extra space or two in the title and it'll probably sail on in.

Just make a simple change to the title. A another letter, period . , " or anything. And it will go through. It's a computer problem related to trying to stop spam, I assume, when manually listing auctions.

Just read through the "spam" policy. Does this mean that if I have 3 identical items, I must list them in a single listing as multiple units (like an eBay Dutch auction) or wait until one auction has closed in order to list the next one?

It just means you can't list them seperatly at the same time. If you want to list them at the same time, you must do it as a dutch auction.

whatzit a, whatzit b as individual listings
has never given me any trouble. If I have a
# of items alike and chose to list them the
same day, I hardly think that is spam.

I don't know what you think it is, but what matters is Yahoo thinks it is spam and if you do this, you can plan on having your auctions closed by Yahoo wether or not they have bids. Just because you haven't been caught yet doesn't mean you won't be.

yes, and you will also most likely annoy your customers who are shopping if you submit too many whatzit a, whatzit b, whatzit r, s, t, u, & v's... if I have to wait for a whole page of a seller's whatzits to load while I'm shopping by "View only photos" then I'm gonna be really aggravated due to my slooooooooowww modem and limited shopping time...and not only will I NOT bid the whatzit's, I might complain to Yahoo about the auctions depending on my mood...while not everyone is just like me, I assume that I am not a completely atypical shopper. So all the dupes might be annoying to others too. Something you might want to think about before listing, because alienating customers is NOT something you want to do if you can avoid it.

Pickersangel:
Double-check your current active listings to make sure that an auction with that same title is not already active.

Yes, do Double Check, as many times
that happens to me.. reasons being:
Using your browsers back button WHEN your
session timer has timed out. You then will
wind uo on Yahoos Secure Page, asking you to log in again... BUT all along your auction was actually entered...... So Double Check and I hope you understand what I have just typed here
