Ok, I'm finally gonna do it. I have my first Yahoo auction listing in progress, in another window. Between the Title and Description is "Date". What goes here? Today's date? something else? This is probably a really dumb newbie question, but I'm confused as to why I need to enter a date. Thanks for any help on this. ~Barb

How are you listing? I'm not sure what you are seeing as Yahoo's listing page does not have "Date" in that location...or anywhere else and that is the only way I list mine. If you are using AW, bulkloader, etc. you may want to mention it and someone else may have an answer for you.

I'm not using a bulk loader or listing service. I'm directly on Yahoo's auction listing page, headed Submitting An Item, and telling me what category I'm listing in. The second section, after Add Photos is Item Information. First box is Title, second box is Date, third box is Description, followed by check boxes for Sales Policies and international shipping. As far as I can tell, I'm in the right place. Or am I in the Twilight Zone?? Thanks, auctionee and anyone else who can help here. ~Barb

You are in the right place (or at least should be the right place) but I just checked a few categories and still don't see that field anywhere... Sounds like Yahoo is fixing something else that isn't broken. What category are you listing in?

I'm in category Auctions/Arts&Entertainment/Memorabilia/Television Memorabilia and I got to the Submit page by going into that category and clicking on Submit Item. I followed the Help files all the way to "Fill Out The Auction Submission Page" and it skips from "Enter A Title" to "Enter A Description". No mention of "Enter a Date" or what it would be for.{Sigh...} Should I just skip it?

Congratulations! You're not in the twilight zone! I found it in that category as well...apparently a recently added feature. My guess, as it appears to be category specific is that it would refer to the "date" of your item (when it was made, etc) to help collectors ??? You should be able to skip it if you like, or you can put it in. What it does is put the date in bold highlighted at the top of your description. If you want you can put it in and see what it looks like when you preview it and you can always delete it if you don't like it.

So it's specific to certain categories like memorabilia. Thanks for solving the mystery! Nothing like getting stumped on my first time out. LOL. Now I can go hit that submit button. Thanks again for your timely help on this.

It is not added, it is old.
Seems a few places it has not been removed. You can leave it blank and I would. You may be re-listing and the last thing you want is the item looking tired, like 3 mos on the block and no one wants, evidenced by the date.
