Since Paypal became international October 31, I have yet to receive any international payment. Why? Because so far, they have not yet validated any of the dozen customers of mine that have applied. Most have given up and used Bidpay.

As for Yahoo, I think enough time has passed since the mandantory CC verification policy change, and enough sales made for me to make the following observations:

It has had no effect whatsoever on the amount of deadbeats I get. I still get plenty. Like before they are almost all NEW users. It has had a negative effect on my sales, as valid bidders who don't or won't use a CC are turned away. this I know because some of them email me and buy directly which just creates me more work and disables the feedback concept for these buyers.

Yahoo and CC has worked for me. No more tons of deadbeat bidding and sending 2 3rd notices and getting stressed out.
Now it's just SALES !!!!
Yahoo Pay Direct just about 90 percent of my sales anymore...
Pay Pal, for get it, I'm not Paying !!!!!
and still getting sales.

I get dead beats too. Mostly new bidders.
Think that they get sticker shock from shipping
cost.

You should send Paypal a letter of thanks. Since even their US credit card validation is a joke, I can just imagine how easy it would be for the International scammers to sign up. Paypal's screw up probably saved you from having your PP account frozen and your bank account hit for all the charge backs.

I dropped PayPal and went to ExchangePath for US cards and BidPay for US and international. BidPay works very very well for international transactions and my US customers have liked using ExchangePath as well so I haven't missed PayPal at all.

To zzyzx000. You are 100% correct in Your observations. I am an Ebayer who wanted to take part in Yahoo auctions but, because I had concerns what Yahoo might do with the cc info I would not give it to them. Results, I cannot sell and now even bid on an item. I posted several months ago that Yahoo was costing their sellers customers by this stupid rule and I still say that. If they want to verify a person why not check the feedback on other auctions they use. They are welcome to check mine. The posession of a credit card does not insure the person is not a deadbeat bidder and if they are that credit card helps not one bit. What Yahoo sellers need to remember is there are probably thosand of people just like Me. That means when You go to sell Your item there are bids You won't get and money You won't make because of Yahoo's stupid rule. I know Ebay is not free but if Yahoo is costing You money in lost bids, it isn't free either. I wish all Yahoo seller's the best but, Yahoo is costing You money.
