Okay, so now I've got some auctions listed (yeah!). My question - when (if) somebody bids on my 1st Bid Wins auctions, will I be notified somehow or do I have to keep going into each and everyone of my auctions and check them? Also, where it says "Ask Seller A Question" - do I have to go into each and every single auction constantly to see if anybody's asked any questions?

I thought I filled out something that says I will be notified - oops! I forget what it was for...... it's late in the East! I'm sorry, I'm tired. I just wanted to ask these questions tonight in order to get answers soon. Do I need to set up a Yahoo email?

DOES anybody know a where I'm a comin' from?
Wish I did....

Thanks for your replies. Nighty night...bed bugs bite....newbie on the crawl....

#1 Nope, you don't need to set up a Yahoo email.

#2 You will get a email if someone asks a question with the url right there in the email. Just cut and paste the url into your browser, answer the question, and walla all done.

#3 If you did "1st Bid Wins" auctions, you made the starting price and buying price the same right? If so, the auction will end on its own the minute a bid is made on it.

When your 1st bid wins auctions get a bid, the auction will close and Yahoo will send two notifications to your default address registered with them. The first is a notification that your auction ended. The second is the notification with the name of the winner. You don't have to keep checking--Yahoo does that for you.

No. If someone asks a question, Yahoo will e-mail the question to you. Questions do not show up on your auctions unless you answer them publicly using the link they provide in your e-mail when a seller asks a question. If you don't answer the question, the question does not show up, so if it is a question that you would rather not have showing (lately, I have actually received SPAM in the form of a question on some of my auctions) then don't answer the question publicly.

Do I need to set up a Yahoo email?

You automatically have a Yahoo e-mail when you sign up with Yahoo. You do not, however have to USE the Yahoo e-mail. When you signed up, it asked for an alternate address to verify you and then you had to enter a confirmation number or click on a link to the Yahoo site to confirm that address. Just be sure that your regular e-mail address that you wish to use is the default and everything will be sent there.

Hope this helps. Welcome!

Thank you both for your excellent help!

labbie1 : I didn't know I had a Yahoo email address.... When I signed up, I was wondering what they meant by "alternate" email address - now I know. Still don't know
about this Yahoo email address though. Is it
my [email protected]? Veddy interesting, indeed.

Oh, by the way, thanks for the "Welcomes" too. This all makes a difference in a person feeling at home here. This is a very nice board and I so appreciate feeling comfortable enough to ask questions.

All the best to everyone!

singingeagleusa Yes, your e-mail would be [email protected]. To check your e-mail, you just sign in to Yahoo. Then click on Yahoo in the upper right corner and then click on "mail" in the list of about a million items including maps, auctions, classifieds, etc. and it will take you to your mailbox.

I personally never use my Yahoo mail, but it is there and there is probably a "Welcome" e-mail there for you.
