I tried to relist some auctions and a screen came up that I was not sure if I should fill out. Do I have to sign up for one of these options to be able to sell or buy on Yahoo from now on? I had already submitted a credit card when I started on Yahoo. I don't want to do electronic payments - will I have to? Just wanted to check here before I do anything. What exactly does Wallet do? I am really confused!!!

NO your password to get in to yahoo auctions is not the same as the password security key for the wallet they are two different password.
you shouldnt need a wallet to sell or buy on yahoo just a valid credit card number if its been a while since you signed up with yahoo is it posablew the card you used expirered and you have recieved a new one.
if this is the case yahoo is looking for you to update the epiration date for your credit or debit card.

dman3 - Thanks - how do you do that without filling out all that stuff for the wallet or paydirect. I can't get in to relist unless I go through all those forms.

dman3 - I went ahead and did the wallet last night before I saw your reply. After I filled it out my re-submits went through. I still don't know exactly what wallet does or how it helps - I guess I'll find out in the future. Have you used it - what does it do?

"Have you used it - what does it do?"
It simply stores your credit card and personal information (name, address, etc.) so that if you make a purchase on just about any of Yahoo's services (PayDirect, Yahoo Stores, Featured Auctions, etc.) it makes it very easy for you to check out. Also, if you ever decide to accept PayDirect as a payment option, you have to have a wallet set up first.

I had not listed any auctions on Yahoo for awhile and went there today to put up something. It says that effective 11/8/00 you either have to sign up for the Yahoo Wallet or Yahoo PayDirect to continue buying and selling on Yahoo, even if you had previously registered a credit card with them. Since I didn't want to do any electronic transfers to my credit card OR my bank account, I had to sign up for the Wallet to be allowed to continue posting my auction. Gosh, I hate these hoops you are made to jump through just to list something for sale! Setting it out in the front yard is beginning to look better all the time!!

Paintpower....Same here...at my age I thought I was through having rummage sales, but after the 'hoops' we must go through and a slow year of sales, I'll have to start thinking of 'indoor rummage sales' this winter. Oh well, trying to sell by computer has been quite a learning experience and it fills up long evenings. P.S...I also did the Wallet thing just in case I do a special auction or want to buy something later.
