Hi Everyone! Here is one for you! I just sold something for $75. When I woke up this morning & checked my emails. Looks like the winning bidder paid with PayDirect! I hit on the email link to accept the payment and it asks for my social security number! I refused to give that info. (This is my first experience with PayDirect.) I have never been asked these things with Paypal! I dont sell enough online through auctions to claim it on my income tax. To me this is kind of scary! Another thing I am concerned about is after I "Receive" Payment through PD, how long will it take to get the money into either my checking account or have a money order sent to me? For me this is ALOT of money! I dont want it sitting in my PayDirect acct when I could be using it to pay bills. If you know what I mean. Why do they have three options of REFUSE, ACCEPT and ACCEPT LATER??? What is the easiest Cleanest way to get the money to myself? Thanks ahead of time for your help!

I really Have received ant payment through pay direct yet so im not quite sure what the deal is but.

Im wondering if maybe its not asking for your wallet security password and not a SS# at all your wallet password is different from your password for yahoo auctions.

only other reason I could think it would ask ask for SS# is that you didnt complete one of the steps in signing up yet.

Have you received the papers in the mail yet from yahoo and if you have have you fallowed directions in these papers is a link and a comfirmation number to double comfirm you mailing address.

maybe you choose not to add a bank accout to tranfer money in and out of your account.

you can get money out of paydirect in a few way the fastest way to pay bill with your money is to use there bill payment service fund it directly with your auction payments from paydirect.

tranfering the money out to your credit card or bank will take from 3 to 10 days.

hope this helps

Yes they ask for your SSN the 1st time. The screen specifically says that they are required to ask, but you are not required to give it, or something to that effect. If you just opt out it will go to the next screen.

Oh - yes there is a long delay getting credited into a checking acct. 10 days the first time at least. You can credit to money back to your credit card but to tell the truth it is not much faster getting there, I don't think.

Yes, I opted out of giving my SS# Now I need to accept payment from the buyer. Should I just accept it and go from there. Sorry to sound so dumb about this. My concern is getting the money to me as soon as possible. I think the only thing I have set up with PD is my credit card right now. They have been using that to pay for my Featured Auction payments. That should work, dont you think?

This is interesting they could have just as simplly asked you to volenteer SS# in the aplicantion and let you know if you dont feel comfortable giveing it on line send it back with the paper work you get in the mail.

I refused to give PayDirect my SS# and that seems to be the end of it. Never heard a thing about it since. It almost seems they ask on a rotating schedule.

They asked for mine on about the third payment and evedently, dman, they haven't asked you for yours yet.

paloma91 - yes, you can credit the money onto your credit card if you want. Otherwise you can have them transfer it to your checking account, but I have 3 checking accounts linked to them and the shortest time a payment has taken to be credited is 9 days. I hope this helps.

Yes, you need to go ahead and accept the payment which will deposit the money to you PayDirect account. Then you need to click on "Move Money" to transfer the money out of your PayDirect account into your bank account or credit card. Everything I have read on these boards has said that bank account transfers take at least 7-10 days to post to your bank account. I have not listed my bank account with them, instead I use my debit card (which works the same as a credit card except the money goes into my checking account) to withdraw funds and it has never taken more than 2 days to post to my account...in many cases, it is there the next day. If you want your money in a hurry, this is the way to go...IMO.

The scariest part about Paydirect is that if the buyer charges it back, you lose, period. No chance to show any proof of delivery. Wait until the scammers who deadbeat on Yahoo with multiple IDs learn that they dont have to deadbeat, they can just charge it back and get it free.
Paydirect is run by the same robots that run Yahoo. Last week I asked them what the charge back procedure is. I got this answer:
"Thank you for your suggestion." I wasn't making a suggestions, I was asking a question. So now my question to those accepting Paydirect: Do you enjoy giving away merchandise?

"Paydirect, fast, easy and FREE - just charge it back."

I find no problems with Yahoo's customer service. They can do themselves a Big Favor by stationing a Rep of theres onto this board and on otws's.

gem10a1 - I don't mean to be rude, but I sure hope they never do that. What a hopeless proposition it is. It is a bit like Rome and the lions for the rep. The complainer complains and the rest of us watch the rep try to explain entering a password or something else newbie.

Or... the rep is expected to justify Yahoo, and speak for it's plans when they are 19 years old and have only had this job for 3 days. Honestly, I think it creates more bad will than good, and it is also just squirrelly in general. Look for a Yahoo reps on Yahoo, not here, here, here or there....

Besides this, I don't think they're doing so poorly. Dot.coms dropping left and right. Ebay is stagnent by all accounts. Same time, Yahoo is growing and auctions are just a slice of that.

Here is the exact response I got from Yahoo (after a week) when I asked what the charge back procedure was. Note that they don't say the seller gets a chance to respond. The charge back is automatic.

In answer to your inquiry regarding reversal of Payments:

If a Payment is funded fraudulently, or the funding transaction is charged
back by the creditcard holder, the Payment would be reversed.

Thanks for the warning Yisgood. I also e-mailed them after reading your post. Here is the complete e-mail I received (though mine only took a few hours to be returned).

Hello,

In answer to your inquiry regarding reversal of Payments:

If a Payment is funded fraudulently, or the funding transaction is
charged
back by the creditcard holder, the Payment would be reversed.

Notification of such a reversal would be sent to the recipient of the
Payment in question.

You may wish to refer to the Yahoo! Paydirect Terms of Service
Agreement for
more information on your responsibilities as a Recipient of a Paydirect
Payment (Sections 12 and 17). A copy of the agreement is available at:
https://paydirect.yahoo.com/PD/ui/pd/help/tos.pd?arthas1=

Thank you,

CIBC National Bank
Paydirect Support

Guess that solves the "No chargebacks allowed" question too. Guess I'll have to reconsider PayPal and just re-read their TOS every couple of hours.
