I was Christmas shopping last night and since I only shop the auctions now with auctions I can use via paydirect I tried putting in the words Paydirect and what I want didn't work very well. I went to extended search and there I found a button for Paydirect search auctions only. Yeaa made my life a lot easy now I can ignore all the rest.
BTW it looks like even if you take pay direct but don't go into you options to enable you are not found in that search.
Before that I saw 4 dolls on Yahoo none which took paydirect. I asked all 4 if they did only one answered she didn't take paydirect and then she wrote me back said she looked into it and opened an account. Guess who is getting a nice little chunk of money for a sale. Yeap the one that opened a paydirect.
I am just so glad at least for me that I can just search the paydirect with ease now!!!

Yes I thought so also it is also nice that Yahoo's paydirect is doing something for sellers that take paydirect an edge up
It has to be actived though that means you will see there little yellow green sign undser your name in the auctions to be in the search. I took notice that many sellers state the take paydirect yet do not have it actived. I wonder of they just don't know. . .

It might suck for you but I am smiling all the way to the bank. They more they change the more money I make, but then I am fast anough and clever enough to keep up with the changes. I would image that people who think yahoo sucks because they don't sell very well there, I would assume that has something to do with their attitude. Their lack at looking at what works, maybe greed, out pricing themselves in the market. I see lots of sellers I would never buy from on Yahoo first if there is no shipping and handling stated I go to another one. Most of them just give 1 line descriptions tell me the condition of the product if you don't I am on to another auction as most people are. many think I don't have to do those things and they are quite correct and they don't have to get many bids either. When I asked a question to someone on a auction at Yahoo very seldom do they answer. You can't take the time to answer I can't take the time to bid. Even if it is a stupid question. Now and as time goes on it will be the survival of the fitest and the weak shall be weeded out and tossed aside. I love Yahoo but then I would I am smart enough to make a profit : )

traceyg-- thanks for the tip on search! That's nice-about making such profits -- but confused as to why do you only refer to bidding - not selling?? I only refer to profits from the selling angle...
It will be disastrous if the only bidders we can attract are YPD bidders. Some of them have other preferences like check/m.o and I have never had a bad check from ebay or yahoo in 3 years. This scare tactic of the CC voodoo is a bunch of bunk. One thing I do know, I have lowered prices and done everything humanly possible to increase sales and STILL the auctions continue to slide downhill since Sept.
Yahoo, just like ebay has now integrated themselves in dictating the direction of our sales. Both auction sites are on a very thin legal edge. I know you don't agree with this being so ecstatic and all, but this is a FREE economy and as a seller, I'm tired of my VENDORS messing with how my customers should find or pay me.
It smacks of the slaves who built the pyramids so royalty could prosper...

Probably because I was shopping at the time for Christmas. When I shop the auctions I go strickly for the Paydirect ones because it is easy for me. I don't want to have to send a MO check etc. . .
As far as selling I do take M.O. Cash, Personal checks also. Some people prefer to shop that way and that is okay with me if that is the way they wish to pay. I wouldn't limit myself just to the Paydirect for the selling, but I do for whatever I am buying for myself because it is just easy for me.
The search I was talking about is an extended search where as a Buyer I can go in and search JUST auctions that take paydirect. As a seller it is also a benefit because there are people just like me that prefer to use Yahoodirect/wallet so they will see my auctions when they search. It give me a little edge over sellers on Yahoo that don't take Paydirect.

tracyg------I appreciate you taking the time to explain my questions on profit. It is, however I really doubt that bidders/collectors will search just for YPD - they would always feel like they are left out of the loop on a neat collectible. In reference to maybe clothing, and more ordinary items - yes, bidders may prefer to find those just with CC. However, that would mean they would have to do several searches , since some sellers use PP and YPD and others.
The problem I experience here now with Yahoo, is their intervention. Last year, they didn't have a CC and could have cared less about the auctions and they pretty much ran themselves. I made MORE sales then fer sure~! Now, that they have put their own CC hat in the ring -and are manipulating the rotation of auctions, the obvious has happened - they are catering to high volume producers...the "catch 22" here is, how can we become high volume sellers - if they keep us in the back of the class???
I do respect your point of view and your courtesy you've extended by not taking offense to my post. My responses to anyone's post has never included immature remarks like
"hit the road" if you don't like it here. I think some of them were the exact ones who said that over at e-bay........

Now that there is a world market and there are so MANY sellers in that market even collectables are not that rare and few bidders would feel left out of the loop. This week I bought a collectable doll one with the mark on the head and all the trimmings on Yahoo. I paid a nice sum for it. I looked up dolls with teddybears came up with 4 one took paydirect and that is who I went with for this collectable. Then I look for Dallas Cowboys Colletables Now I just search the Paydirect auctions found one bought it. Now I have a nice older collectable somewhat hard to find but not hard and the seller that took paydirect has a little more money in their pocket. So, I can't agree with you logic.
Again the search Paydirect only gives the seller an edge and edge is just a very small help up but all of them put together along with stating shipping prices etc. . . is what sifts the wheat. So you may doubt all you wish as I and a few other search only the paydirect auctions only just because it is easier. As a seller I am glad to take Paydirect and for ever small edge I can get because it is a tought market. One I do well in but still tough to keep it there at a steady pace.

Interesting - we take PayDirect, and have it activated, so that is good for us - BUT I much prefer PayPal, and when a buyer, buys we are very clear about the fact we prefer PayPal. We have had nothing but problems with PayDirect and the shipping being left off problem - I'd rather pay, PayPal than spend time trying to get PayDirect payments straightened out.

Just curious ... why do you prefer PayPal over the others?
You may pay with <A HREF="http://www.paypal.com" target="new">PayPal</A>, <A HREF="http://www.exchangepath.com" target="new">ExchangePath</A>, <A HREF="https://paydirect.yahoo.com/" target="new">YahooPayDirect</A>, <A HREF="http://www.propay.com" target="new">ProPay</A>, <A HREF="http://www.moneyzap.com" target="new">MoneyZap</A> (a Western Union Company), check (held 10 days to clear), or money order.<P>
I am loaded up with them all <g> but I have seen so much negative about PayPal, in this forum, that I chose to go with some of the others as a "backup".
Is there a comparison of these services somewhere?

LMAO! Yes, as a Canadian I would feel very much out of the loop. In order to use PayDirect you have to be a resident of the U.S.
