Is anyone else having a problem listing without a reserve price on Yahoo. I never use reserve prices yet I had an auction go off with a bidder but without a sale because they said I had a reserve on it, which I did not have. I went back and looked at the original auction on AuctionWatch and do not have one. Are they requiring one now? I tried to list another auction just now and they say the error is the reserve must be larger than the minimum bid. Do you have to have a reserve now? Would appreciate if anyone can tell me. Also how can I find out a bidder's email on Yahoo. I want to write my bidder and tell him there was no reserve and he won the bid but they ignore my question about that when I write to them. Is anyone else having these problems with Yahoo when submitting auctions from AuctionWatch?

If your auction was a relisted one the problem could be that Yahoo inserts a "reserve" that is equal to the price you were originally asking for the item.

So if:
You resubmitted the item
lowered the price from the original price you were asking
NEGLECTED to delete the reserve Yahoo would have added in that was equal to the original asking price
then that is the problem.

There is really no easy way to know your bidder's address in that situation. There are 2 things you can try:

1) Look to see if you can find any auctions listed under that same ID. If your customer is also a seller they may have their email address listed in their ads. OR you could use Yahoo's "question and answer" feature to contact them.

2) TRY emailing their [email protected]. This is effective sometimes, not always.

Hope this info helps you!

I always double check all my auctions before listing, and then I check them all when they are listed
If you do a Manual Relist.. you have to omit the price that Yahoo inserts in the reserve price box, if you do not want a reserve price there on Manual relists.
Check, check your auctions, tis a good thing

I want to thank you both who gave me some good advice. I did reach the bidder by emailing him at yahoo. (Now why didn't I think of that? I still have not resolved the problem with the reserve. My auction when I relist is showing nothing in the reserve square and if Yahoo does make your last minimum a reserve, this is the first time I've seen it, and I relist all the time. When I preview it I can see no place that shows either the minimum bid or the reserve (if there is one). I tried putting
0.00 in the reserve space as it is in eBay's listing form but the auction still came up in Yahoo with my last minimum as reserve. From the error messages it seems they are requiring a reserve now. Is anyone else having this problem?

Yes, Gem, I learned that lesson too- ALWAYS check!

marbran- I am truly stumped. I listed tons & tons of stuff last night with no reserve and I didn't have the problem you're describing. I have no idea how to help you, I'm sorry. Perhaps someone else will come along with an answer though- just keep bumping this thread up to the top. Good luck- I hope you figure it out!

It might be a glitch of some kind listing through AW. Ya might wanna try asking in the AuctionWatch Services board and see if they might know about it...or let them know if they don't.
