I'm thinking of selling at Yahoo, but want to see how well my item sells at Yahoo compared to eBay. When I search completed auctions every item in my search closed with a bid. Is this because Yahoo only shows closed auctions with bids, or is Yahoo a really good market for my item and someone will bid almost every time????

Sorry, it Only shows winning auctions.
Thats just half of the picture
But, at least you can get some idea of what items actually sold.

If you log into Yahoo Auctions! At the top of the page click on "My Auctions"!

This will give you a menu with several options to navigate your auctions!

Click on "closed/sold"! This will give you all your auctions that have closed whether they have bids or not! These will stay there until you delete them or Yahoo clears up their servers! Not sure how long they keep it on? It is quite awhile though!

I am not really sure what the closed auction function in the auction screens are used for? Other then a list for buyers and sellers to see what you have sold! I guess it could be nice for a print out or maybe the IRS?

Hope this gives you what you are looking for!
