Is he at Rice or Jones College, and are you sure he's a student, not an employee?
The students are Rice are very, very, very intelligent, but I've decided that COMMON SENSE in my auction buyer is much more useful to me. Unfortunately, neither intelligence NOR common sense seems to be prevalent these days---at least not in auction buyers.
Your buyer's emails are not unlike many others we ALL receive. The difference is that *most* sellers don't become ugly and crass in their email exchanges with their buyers, regardless the irritation they may feel.
Your sarcasm and insulting remarks were uncalled for, and you're lucky he replied at all. In fact, you'll be lucky if he still sends you the payment after your crude comments.
Apparently, you've never worked as a retail clerk before or you'd be *used to* buyers like this one. In fact, the customers you'd deal with while working retail would make this one seem like an absolute SAINT.
So be grateful you HAVE a customer to complain about. They're few and far between these days.

Lessons to be learned:
1) It doesn't hurt to be nice to a customer, even if they don't seem to be paying attention to you.
2) If you're rude to a customer, they probably won't come back.
Oh, if you're going to call someone a collegiate moron, at least spell collegiate right.

Nope. Just because one of your customers is not deterred by your rudeness doesn't mean that it had no effect on the others.
If you shoot 10 people and one of them lives, it doesn't mean that the other 9 were probably going to die even if they had not been shot.
Personally, I don't care how bad I wanted your gizmo, I would have told you where you could stick it after your first reply.

I must agree with your attitude, I've had
only a few but there are some real morons out
there.
The very worst are those can read but refuse
to comprehend. Educated ones primarily.
My best reply is "don't leave home without
your mother".
I ask my wife how to spell any word over two

I will say one thing here, in your quiz test. No matter how bad I wanted the item you sold, I would rather live without it than kiss your backside to get it. No item is that important to me. I don't care if it was the only one on this earth, and I needed it to complete my collection.
Some people have low self esteem and will crawl if they have to, to get what they want. They are born crawlers. They also miserably lack self respect. Such persons need to get help, and learn that they are being treated with much less respect, than human beings deserve.
If you deal with the majority of buyers like this, it surely affects your repeat sales. Of course, this person may return, because they are so helpless in their own right to correct what they can not handle. And you seem to enjoy being the type of "seller", who rubs their noses in their inability to correct their inadequacies, and to stand tall.
While you may have shown this persons inabilities to handle their situation, involving you. You have also shown your inabilities to show any respect to another human being. Along with having no compassion to just let the matter go. You had to bring it to this board and flaunt your weakness, for taking advantage of another persons.

I've come to the conclusion this is just like a store, lots of customers looking and sooner or later the item will sell, so sit back and just RELAX......
What's the rush ?
No item is that important to me. I don't care if it was the only one on this earth, and I needed it to complete my collection.
