Yahoo says "Hot Auctions are a selection of live auctions with the most bidding activity, from sellers with the highest ratings. To see a complete list of items, browse the categories to the left."

What a farce.
In the dolls section about half of the dolls showing as HOT have ONE or TWO bids on them. And their fb is not even over 100...
It's pretty obvious to me, nobody is bidding out there, time Yahoo pay attention and lets get the listing like it should be.

Even worse in the fabrics, a hot auction shows on textiles others.
An auction with ONE bid and the person has (NEW) next to name...
SAD SAD SAD

Yesterday I came across a category where the "hot" auctions didn't have ANY bids, and the sellers had very little feedback. I wish they'd choose MY auctions that don't have any bids as the HOT ones to feature, since they're not getting any attention at the back of the list.

Well I gotta say, I just relisted 25 auctions and thought to myself "none of this is going to sell".

This is first for me.
Usual is "I am going to sell most of this and every bit of it eventually."

When postage goes up?
Forget about it.

Part of the problem is the listing order, part of it is the economy, but if there is "growth" at Yahoo auctions these days it is because nothing is moving, not because more people are listing more items.

Well all we can say and of course this is with a HA! attitude, is that Yahoo will SEE what is happening. HA!

I'm afraid the growth ! is a case of relists.
I sell an unusual odd thing here and there, but one thing I can say, I won't be standing in long lines at Xmas to ship packages, there aren't any...
Well guess it's a forced vacation.
But gads it's sad, feel more than ever bah humbug.
When will we ever get it thru to Yahoo.

sigh......I knew this was coming. Too many people (paypal, ebay, now the PO) wanting a piece of the pie. Even mail boxes etc are getting in on the game. Have you seen their commercials on TV?

There is only so much pie to go around and then ya gotta get another pie.

Looks like they will kill the golden goose and we, the little guys, will be the ones to get hurt the worst.

I guess we could all go stand on Cedar Street to make a living. (Cedar Street is where the hookers hang out here). Oh GAWD! That would NOT work for me! I'd have to pay THEM! LOL!!

heygrape,

Where I live, it's Cedar Springs Road. Is Cedar a code name for hooker?????????

If it weren't 30 degrees outside (yes, even in Texas it gets cold) I could have a gigantic garage sale to get rid of all this stuff (at an enormous loss, I might add). Then I could get a job working for someone else again, and be stressed-out and miserable for the rest of my life.

At least those hookers are self-employed, grapey, and don't have to pay income taxes.

(Just a thought...................)

It's derived from a combination of inner city slang, and redneck talk... see'd her = cedar.

I've been doing extremely well the last 4 days. No sales last week but very good the weekend before. I don't mind the cycles because generally when it was slow on Yahoo I was doing well on eBay and vice-versa. (Of course I've only been selling on Yahoo since late October.)

I'm selling. It is relatively constant, but I sure can't say I'm overworked here. It COULD HAVE BEEN like last year with us packing like crazy. But no....... Yahoo had to mess with the listing order..... sigh......

startrek--ROFL!! Maybe we should all come to Florida, set up tables there, and sell our stuff. God knows, that's where all the peoples are right now.

Pocono--see'd her sounds to me like a pregnant chad.
