I haven't put any items on the auction lately, but today I added a few things. When I featured some of them a little symbol shows of next to it. I checked the properties and it is,
http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/auctions/images/safepay.gif.

I don't know how to make a link here. What does this new gif mean? Thanks in advance!

I noticed it this evening too. It looks like a slice of a Lime...
if you go look at your auction you will see that symbol stands for Buyer Protection.
Now I have no idea why it's showing up, it seems to be a regular yahoo gliche.
I have all mine with YPD and should all have that symbol, but on the Lime symbol it's not there. So figure Yahoo has the hiccops again.
What I want back is Featured next to my item when I look at my list...
Drives me nuts trying to remember what I featured and didn't.

Joan, thanks for responding. The auctions I have featured, say featured, and have the little symbol too. On the auctions I don't have featured, they just have the Yahoo PayDirect symbol.

I was wondering this too. I have ONE little "slice of lime" and I've been listing new items off & on all day. What's up with that?

I don't have any fruit and feel a little overlooked to tell the truth.

Aw Gee Verymodern you feel left out cause you don't have any fruit loops on your auctions. only kidding.!
Though I must say they are sort of pretty and you do notice. Of course if you just run your curser over it, I realized this morning it says buyer protection...
I'm really laughing, this is a $2.50 tops item that this is showing on...

Now on the featured have a question. I don't feature the first day or wait til I get the number and then go in from there and list, and of late no featured name at all.
Are you all featuring it when you list it?

joan: I usually wait till the last day to feature my auctions, but this time I featured one of them right after I listed, and the featured logo is showing up.

I do think thats why featured isn't showing up on mine.
I asked Yahoo why it was happening and they said it was a glitch and would have it fixed in a few days, that's a month ago about.
I like to do the featuring a few days after only because then I get a listing of where I would be in the pecking order.
No sense featuring something for .10 if it's going to be on page 10...
I guess I should go see if featureing when list shows this now too....
DUH...

You know why it's a lime, right? Paydirect is bittersweet, you take the good with the bad.

Put the lime in the lemonade, drink it all up.
Put the lime in the lemonade, called the doctor - woke him up - said Doctor...

(hope someone here is from my generation......)

Anyway, if we are doing Pina Colada here, I'd prefer a slice of coconut.

No fruit for me either! I offer Pay Direct on all my auctions.

I found out WHY I'm getting LIMES....

http://auctions.yahoo.com/phtml/auc/us/promo/announcements.html

In fact I just discovered this whole area.
On first page of auctions, just above make money on yahoodirect, is ANNOUNCEMENTS.
Click on it and discover a world of odd ball things.

What a shock! An announcement board! Yahoo! is starting to scare me now. Why wasn't the announcement board announced? Oh, stupid me. It was announced, on the announcement board. Duh.

Aw gee what fun would it be if we didn't have to HUNT for something.
How else would we see all that Yahoo has to offer...
Heck I wouldn't have noticed it, if it hadn't been that lite blue and my curser made it change color a bit....

Okay, I went to the link after the little lime and followed the instructions given to verify my address...

BUT....

When I logged into Yahoo! PayDirect there was no "Verify Mailing Address" on the left hand side under "Action"

I am the only one that can't get a lime---aw heck! VM, pass me a coconut!

If we're having Pina Coladas, how about passing one threw the monitor. My wife loves 'em. It only takes one for her to get .

I also know the words to the song. Are we all aging, or does it just seem that way to the Back Street Boys generation?

Could the appearance of an ANNOUNCEMENT BOARD on Yahoo possibly mean they're going to give in and CHANGE THE LISTING ORDER BACK TO TIME-ENDING????????????????

Sorry, I guess that was just wishful thinking on my part.

Oh Duh! My address is already verified! LOL

I found out by clicking "View Limits" under "Actions" in PayDirect. It says I am verified to $1,000, which means that I have already verified my street address.

I still don't have any fruit.

Perhaps it is because I have multiples of my items, so I just relist the auction when I have a sale? Hmmm.... I need to study this

CAgrrl Methinks we have a youngster here....

It was a song by Harry Nilsson that was popular in what, the mid 70's or late 60's? Those times are kind of a blur of bad taste and awful fashion sense to me...

Anyway, the thing that made it really popular was a 7-Up commercial with a black man from the "islands" singing "Put the lime in the coconut, drink it all up!"

Since then, it has been performed by everyone from the Muppets to the Resevoir Dogs?!!! And from the soundtrack for "Practical Magic". It's a fun Carribean (I know, I mangled that spelling!) type song.

Check out Napster by searching for "Lime in the coconut" and download the Harry Nilsson version, though the Muppets version is worth a listen. LOL

Okay, the wife is totally , after two Pina Coladas last night, (thanks VM for getting that started ).

Now, lets really date ourselves. The song referred to is fairly 'new' to my generation. The other night there was a 'Do Wap' concert on PBS. For those of you who may not know this, a 'Do Wap' show has groups from the mid 50's - early 60's as entertainers. My wife and I knew all of the words to every song. Those were our dating years together. WOW, dated to the extreme!!!

Labbie1 I'm verified also but no fruit for me either. I had an auction I listed for the first time today. There is no fruit on that one either. Maybe one the real special sellers don't get any limes?!

LOL!

Labbie- I don't think it's so much that I'm YOUNG- I think it's more that I'm OUT OF IT! I did live through (part of) the 70's but I don't really watch TV, so that's probably why I didn't get it.

BTW- any conversation that begins with "Did you see the commercial where..." or "did you see the episode of X where..." my eyes instantly glaze over, because I didn't.

Thanks for the info though. Haven't surfed on over to Napster lately, but next time I do I'll check out the tune! I love Caribbean music! Since listening to the music is probably the closest I'll get to a Caribbean vacation this Christmas I think it'll be something to look forward to!
