Hello. 2 questions about using images with SMiE:
When are the global preferences that are not editable from the item/inventory edit screens applied to an item in SMiE? Are the attached defaults safely locked in by the time the auction is in pending before launch (as long as it's not an auto-relist or the launch isn't touched after that by canceling for edits or rescheduling etc.)? Or are the defaults applied on the fly only at the moment of flight to ebay?
I ask because the option to have click-able image enlargements is a global preference, but it can be toggled on and off in preferences. Back in merchandising edition I could keep my global preferences set at my most commonly used choice, but if I wanted to launch a bunch of auctions with the opposite choice I could toggle the default the other way, create all the listings, launch them, and then reset the default. If the same can be done with SMiE, would they carry the globally assigned preference in pending, or woulld the entire batch have to be completely launched before the default was changed to create other items? I realize they would have to be treated as a separate one time launch of one-of-a-kind non-repeating items.
Second image question: Can an embedded fixed size image be added to a description with the click-able enlargement default engaged (or an embedded image added in addition to the presence of fixed-size attached images, same issue)if the image is html-embedded in the text separately and not attached using the image attachment process?
I ask because in merchandising edition I used to be able to omit image attachment and pull my own embedded images into the text from hosting. Can something like that also be done in SMiE, or is it set up that any presence of the Vendio image hosting identification on the images trigger the global preference even if the image attachment process is bypassed?
The image resize option works the same way in SMIE as it did in SMME. You can verify by using the item previews.
Regarding your second question, if you put a fixed sized image within your description using HTML, the 'image resize' feature won't use that for resizing. Image resize only applies when attaching images using the 'attach' function of Image Management during listing creation.
