Ok, I made the switch from SMME to SMIE this weekend and studied the PDF users manual but I'm still a little lost.

First I'm not sure best to put this into words so bear with me on this one.

My goal is to have ebay motors store items for sale with initial quantities of say 10-20. As they sell and quantities get down to say 5 I will order more inventory and will need to increase the quantity available on the market on ebay motors store as the inventory arrives to me from the manufacturer. Is there a way to do this with SMIE? Or would I still have to do the revise my item from ebay to increase the quantity. I can't seem to find exactly how this auto launch feature works. I smoked the old brain cell's good this weekend trying to figure it out but to no avail.

I guess my question should be how does this auto launch feature work. If I were to set the minimum quantity to have on market in my ebay store to say 5 what happens when it reaches that point? Does it increase the quantity in the already active listing or does it launch a new store listing to increase the quantity avialable? (So confused, starting to smell smoke again)

I will not be doing seasonal type sales. What I have in my store will stay there forever, just need to increase the quantity available on market as items sell and I order replacement's. As sales increase (which they already have since the ebay search change) I will be adding additional items. But these new items will also be there for good. Once I start to sell a item it will stay available and I will again need to increase the quantity available on market as they sell and I restock.

Any help clearing the big smoke cloud out of my head would be greatly appreciated. I think I just heard a fizzle up there.

Hello,

The autolaunch profiles will use individual listings to satisfy the requested totals at market.

If you setup a profile to keep 15 at market at all times and one item sells, it could automatically launch another item to meet that requested total. (that would be the fixed quantity option, but you could opt for the schedule-quantity style instead and have it wait to replace the sold items until a specific day or time.)

The profiles will not change the quantity of an existing Dutch listing to meet the requested amount, it can only launch an additional item.

Ok, so if I understand this correctly I make a store listing with let's say 20 available. They sell over a period of time and when the quantity get's down to let's say 5 I reorder another 20 of them. My order arrives and I need to restock my ebay store. What would I have to do now? Add the 20 to the quantity available section and then launch them as new listing's, correct?

I don't stock large quantities (yet at least) so what I have on the market is what I have on hand. As they sell I will reorder the items to restock. I'm just looking for the easiest way to add the newly arrived stock to my ebay store.

This would be just as easy in SMME wouldn't it. What I did in SMME was as a item sell's, I just relist the store item with the merchandise as it arrives to me.

Being I don't stock large quantities I have sometimes had people buy me out. Let's say they bought all 20 items in a single store listing. It then disapears as a active listing. Since I do not have any on hand to restock immediatly I don't think I can use the SMIE auto launch function for it's intended use. I'm getting the feeling I can't really do what I wanted to do in SMIE and will probably just switch back to SMME.

Hello,

If your usual method is to keep everything that you have available as an active eBay storefront listing, the auto-launch profiles wouldn't really help at all.

The auto-launch profiles are setup to take quantity on hand and keep a certian number of those items at market at all times. (at least, this is one of the primary functions of the autolaunch profiles.)

The autolaunch profiles would only be able to meet a certain requirement that you have setup, such as 'always keep 10 at market' - but you don't really have those goals, you simply launch what you have when you have it.

The only way to really manage listing everything you have on hand is manually doing so when you go to edit your 'quantity available' in inventory.

Ok, I think that has cleared up thing's for me. I will switch back to SMME, at least for now. At some point in the future if sales increase in my ebay store that would warrent stocking larger quantities to keep up with demand I may switch to SMIE but for now I think I like SMME better than SMIE. Thanks for the help.
