I cannot edit an item in SMIE without having to enter dimensions that were previously not required. Once in edit mode, it is requiring me to enter box dimensions before saving. Is this a glitch or a change. I saw no previous announcement about it in order to prepare and I am now unable to do anything but launch until ....I enter dimensions for 1000+ listings? how will adding a dimension on individual listings affect multliple purchases with combined shipping. I need an overide/correction/solution ASAP. I am paralized. please advise. Details please

Hello,

This was a change that had to be made to comply with the UPS API, as they will begin requiring dimensions for calculated ground shipping.

Unfortunately there is no way around this, as we must comply with the UPS changes and requirements in order to display calculated shipping costs during the checkout process.

This will have no effect on your combined shipping options, as your preferences will remain as they are setup currently, in terms of calculating the cost based on the total weight Vs individual item rates and markups.

Christopher

Hello,

That is correct, thankfully the UPS calculator in your existing auctions will still function properly and we will NOT stop you from listing an item that doesn't have the dimensions (at this time anyway.)

It is only when you are creating an item anew, or editing an item that you will be required to provide those newly requested details from UPS.

Christopher

For those of us using UPS this is a big deal. On existing oversized items our shipping costs have gone up 20-30% but we have continued to sell using the old calculation that now undercharges for shipping. Vendio must have had some warning that this was going to happen. An announcement or email should have been sent out to your users.

When I modify the Vendio listing to include dimensions, will the new calculation be reflected in existing eBay auctions? If not is there a way to force it?

Hello,

Unfortunately, editing the inventory item will not make changes to the active eBay listing. You would need to manually edit the active listing in order to make this change to it.

Note that you can edit the WBN for your existing active listings and add the dimensions by going to "Sales Manager" --> "Control Panel" --> "Active Listings" --> select the listing --> click the "Set WBN" button --> select the listing --> click "Edit WBN" --> enter the dimensions under "Calculated Shipping Options" and save.

Regards,
Nathan
