Hi,
I have unusual number of errors in my SMIE. Could you please check if this is connected to your current server problems or something else.

I have recently updated many of my auctions to include international insurance in my shipping cost.

Thanks,
Jack

Hi Jack,

Please make sure that you enter a dollar value for international insurance, when using fixed shipping internationally.

I do not charge for the insurance as I include insurance cost in my shipping fees.

How do I do it?

Thanks,
Jack

Hello Jack,

I took a look at the errored listing in your account and noticed that the inventory item has insurance as "Recommended" for international shipping. Did you mean to include the insurance in international as well? If so you will need to select the "Included in Shipping & Handling" for the international insurance. (I do see that you have selected this option for domestic shipping.)

If you don't want the insurance to be included in the international, then you will need to enter a dollar amount in your custom international global preferences for international insurance. You currently have this item set to calculate the insurance. However, the shipping carrier that you are using is not USPS or UPS. So you will need to specify how the insurance is calculated. You may do this by going to "My Account" --> "Global Preferences". Then scroll down to the "Insurance" section and the "International Rates" sub-section. Then enter how you would like it to be calculated under "Custom".

Also, on this inventory item you have specified international shipping, but you haven't selected any international ship-to locations. You will also need to select your international ship-to locations. This can be done by selecting the inventory item to edit. Then go to the "Site Specifics" tab and edit the "Shipping" section. Then select an international ship-to location.

Regards,
Nathan

Nathan,
Thanks for the replay. I will try to change the settings as you recommend.

Previously I was ALWAYS setting international insurance to "recommended" and I never had any problems regardless of other settings.

Right now I was trying to change it to "included in shipping and handling". Once I changed this setting I received multiple errors.

I do not want calculated insurance or fixed insurance. I want to include international insurance at no cost to my customers.

Thanks,
Jack

Hello Jack,

I was able to change your Global Preferences for international insurance to "Included in Shipping & Handling" with no problems. If you are having trouble with this for an inventory item, please provide the name of the inventory item so that I can take a look.

Regards,
Nathan

Nathan,
I appreciate it.

Could you please check it one more time as I was trying to fix it myself? I hope I have not changed it back to the incorrect setting.

Could you change ALL my listings to include insurance in domestic and international shipping?

Thanks,
Jack

Hello Jack,

Your Global Preferences are currently set to include insurance in shipping and handling for new inventory items.

The only way to make this change for existing listings is to edit the listings directly through eBay.

Also, you will need to edit your existing inventory items to make this change.

Only completely new inventory items will take the changes that you have made in your Global Preferences.

If you continue to have trouble with this, please provide the name of an inventory item where you are having trouble, so that we can take a look.

Regards,
Nathan

Nathan,
I still keep getting error messages after correcting international shipping issue.

Right now I have several errors like this:

Error 17521: All locations are dropped.

* All locations provided for shipping service "50013" are not allowable for this site.

How can I resolve it?

Thanks,
Jack

Hello,

Please let us know of one item where you are getting this error so we can further assist.

Typically this error will come up when you have listed that you ship fixed and only listed calculated shipping options (or vise versa) for the eBay shipping and payment details section.

OR - you may have the item setup to say that you ship your item internationally, but didn't list any international specific shipping options to choose from (or the other way around.)

Regards,
Christopher
