I know this will sound dumb but do I need to pay for Image Hosting if I change to a regular Sales Manager, such as the $14.95 version? Now I have Pay-As-You-Go and the $19.95 Image Hosting. Would I be better off to change to the Sales Manager Inventory Edition? I sell less than 100 items a month with most under $30.00. Thank you in advance.
You can use Sales Manager without Image Hosting. However, if you go this route then you will not be able to add an eBay gallery image to your listings at the time that you list. Also, you will need to have your images stored elsewhere and reference the image URLs within your listing description section.
Note that our website specifies that image hosting is free for most Sales Manager and Stores users, and this is true. If your Sales Manager and/or Store fees exceed the image hosting fees, the Sales Manager/Store credit will offset the image hosting fee and image hosting will effectively be free. Please note that this DOES NOT apply to the first billing cycle after signing up for image hosting, as the Sales Manager/Store credit will be applied at the end of the following billing cycle. If your Sales Manager and/or Store fees do not add up to enough to cover the Image Hosting fee in a billing cycle, you will be charged the difference but the Sales Manager and Store credit will still work to offset the Image Hosting fee. Technically, if your image hosting use is in line with your sales volume, you would see no additional image hosting fees after the first billing cycle.
If you were to subscribe to the either of the Sales Manager premium plans (Variable or Flat Rate), then you would get at least 55 MB of free Image Hosting each month.
I'd be happy to calculate the best Sales Manager plan for your business. I will need to know the following:
1. How many items you list per month, on average.
2. Your average gross monthly sales amount.
Please either send this information in an email to [email protected], or provide it here (if you don't mind it being available in a public forum).
As far as Inventory Edition versus Merchandising Edition is concerned, in general Merchandising Edition is best if you are selling unique items, while Inventory Edition is best if you are selling multiples of the same item.
