I have been using Vendio for approx 10yrs, does this policy change below mean for the approx 1000 items I have listed through Vendio onto Ebay on my plan, I will be charged the one time list fee of 22cents and from now on will be charged an additional 22cents per 30 days? Ebay charges us 5cents per 30 days. If so how does Vendio justify such charges?

As previously announced, we will begin charging renewal fees for existing GTC items starting early next week. These items will be imported to your billing statement and charged according to your current payment plan. Renewal fees will post every 30 days, to coincide with eBay's renewal schedule.

Please note that eBay has offered the Good Till Cancelled (GTC) format in eBay Stores for some time. Ever since we enabled this eBay Stores format in our system, our Fees Policy has considered each renewal at eBay a new listing. The specific language indicated, “eBay Stores listings will be charged the non-refundable Listing Fee at the beginning of each 30 day period during which the listing exists in your eBay Store.”

Some of you may have noticed that, beneficially to you, we have not enforced this GTC renewal listing fee in our billing system for the last several years. Given the expected increased adoption of GTC for the new 30 Day Fixed Price format on the live site, we need to begin enforcing this long-standing element of our fees policy.

Hello,

This would be true for your GTC eBay store listings. You might want to consider looking at switching to the Sales Manager Variable Rate Power plan, which has no Vendio listing fees. The Variable Rate Power plan is $34.95 per month, plus a 1.75% final value fee for items that sell.

Regards,
Nathan

This is approx a 400%-600% increase in vendio charges for us, either way. When signing up for Vendio 10 years ago, paying $200.00 for an entire year, plans have changed, but when signing up for this plan, this was a 1 time listing fee of 22cents, where and when did we sign up for 22cents every 30 days. Vendio's only services are templates, image service which we pay for separately, & other basic run of the mill services, which on other sites these services are free or comparable with what we WERE paying for these services, what more do we get for the 400%-600% increase.

(I posted the following on the "Sales Manager Merchandisng Edition" forum before I saw your post here)

Hi,

I have been with Vendio for years and have paid (instead of free Auctiva) because the service was very good with a "decent" price.

But if Vendio starts charging me every month for my 200 items on eBay, I may have to go back to Auctiva. I estimate that this new GTC fee is going to at least "double" my Vendio fees no matter what Vendio plan I choose! Store listing fees on eBay are like .05 cents, GTC price is .15 (books), and Vendio will charge me .22 cents per month? I pity the sellers who have thousands of items on eBay!

At a time when eBay's market is down, the economy is down, Vendio wants to start enforcing an "old & forgotten" little known policy so that my Vendio fees go from $50 per month to over $100 per month? I ran the numbers through all the available Vendio plans and the results were all the same, so changing my plan type to a non-pay per listing plan still amounts to the same monthly increase bacause of the percentage Vendio takes from the final sale price of the item. So "flat rate" or "variable rate" plans make no difference.

eBay took a step in lowering their fees for longer term listings from a few dollars per month down to .15 cents per month (books) so that more sellers will use longer fixed price listings. But now Vendio will be actually charging more for the same type listings?

And what about the "Free Vendio Store" I see advertised all over the internet, I keep being told I can not have one, that I am part of an elite group of Vendio customers that can not get one yet, because I am an old client, I have been with Vendio too long and therefore can not have a store! Am I missing something here? Should there not be some type of loyalty to "Old Clients" that have been with you guys since you were known as Honesty.com?

OK, I am sorry, I vented too much...

Bye, Rick

Hello Rick,

Unfortunately billing related questions would need to be handled via email, as they are not covered in the community forums at this time (unless you had a specific question on how the billing worked.)

For the new (Beta) Free Vendio Storefront's, they are available for newly registered accounts on the new Vendio Platform. You are welcome to register one of these accounts if you want to, but in time when we go out of the beta testing phase we will be able to migrate the date from existing accounts over into this new system so you wouldn't have to start over completely from scratch once that system is ready to use.
Note that under the existing system your using now, both of the Power plans also include a free Vendio Storefront.

Regards,
Chris

Rick, thanks for your post, vent all you want, maybe someone will listen. I can't believe there are not more posts from fellow Vendio users about this subject. I guess we'll have to go elsewhere if this is not changed, as it seems Vendio is getting as bad as Ebay with fees. I asked how Vendio justifies such an increase, with no answers. Do we get something for such an increase? For some reason Vendio thinks they are a selling venue wanting a percentage of our sales or more listing fees than Ebay even charges, when all they are is a listing & photo service, which you can get elsewhere for a reasonable fee or FREE. They charge to talk to someone on the phone, listing fees every 30 days now, image fees and on and on and on. I also agree, its unbelievable, Vendio has offered the eCommerce to the public before offering it to their own customers and charge us for a store. If vendio continues on this path am afraid their demise will be the same as Ebay with stocks next to nothing, sales way down and customer satisfaction next to nill, which send them tumbling. Wake-up Vendio!

Hi simpleeirresistable,

Part of the problem as to why no-one else is posting is because you posted this on the "Inventory Edition" forum instead of the "Merchandising Edition" forum. Most Vendio customers go to the merchandising edition forum as can be seen by the amount of posts there (45,000) versus the inventory edition (3,000). I posted my comment there too, but they removed it! Start one on the merchandising edition forum and maybe there will be more replies.

They will be getting emails and posts as soon as customers start seeing their Vendio bill increasing by many times the normal amount. The question is whether the cost of losing some loyal customers is worth acquiring some new ones.

Regards,
Rick
