Ebay has introduced new EOA (end of auction/store) notices. You cannot turn them off. They put a HUGE "pay now" with Paypal button in ALL of them, if you choose Paypal as just ONE of your payment options.
There is a way to add custom instructions, which I have, but they show up WELL below the fold and no one is reading them.
Since introduction, only 2 customers have used my Vendio checkout. This is not good. I want buyers to use my vendio checkout not only for up-sell, but also because I have a mercant account available and do not just accept Paypal.
How can I set my settings to fix this?
I don't want to remove Paypal completely as a payment option when listing, but I think that may be the only way to get the Huge Pay Now clickable Paypal button OUT of the EOA notices.
I know you have nothing to do with ebay settings. And Ebay said there is NO way to disable the ebay generated EOA notices.
I just meant how can I set up my vendio settings to remove Paypal as an option (so it doesn't show up in Ebay's records), yet still list paypal as an option in my "payment terms" in my Vendio templates and as an option in my Vendio Checkout.

Hi Lori,
Your current settings do not activate eBay Checkout so you do have them correct settings for what you are asking for. The new EOA will send buyers through your eBay Checkout when they click on the 'Send Payment Information' button. We have an option called eBay Checkout Redirect -- if you were to enable this feature, your customers would be redirected to your Vendio Checkout through that button in the EOA. You can turn this on in My Account > Post Sale Management. Please also note that if you do this, you will have to enable the eBay Checkout. This would require going to My Account > Global Preferences and choosing the "Include PayPal Checkout Button and Logo" option, and making sure that when you do your listings you fill out both the Vendio Checkout shipping and handling and the eBay Payment and Information section.

Thanks Sonya,
But I don't want to "force" checkout. Is there a way that I can list on Ebay through Vendio with Paypal NOT chosen as a payment method, which will then stop the Pay Now Paypal button in the Ebay generated EOA notices. Yet still offer Paypal as an option on my Vendio checkout?

Hi Lori,
You can do that, just make sure you uncheck the box for PayPal in Global Preferences and make sure you turn it off in your eBay preferences. The radio button that appears for what option won't matter once you uncheck the actual PayPal box. That should stop it from appearing on your EOAs.

Sonya,
I unchecked the paypal box in global preferences AND I took it off on my ebay settings.
It is now NOT appearing on my ebay listings (in the ebay "paypal" section), which is what I wanted.
However, I still want people to be able to PAY via Paypal. I have checked off Paypal on each individual "product" in inventory and Paypal does show up in my payment terms embedded in my vendio description.
BUT, when people go to checkout now at Vendio, Paypal is not given to them as an option to pay.

Hi Lori,
My apologies, I was getting confused over what it is you wanted. If you want to offer Paypal only through Vendio Checkout, please go back to Global Preferences and check off the box to turn PayPal on, and make sure you have the radio button selected to offer the PayPal logo only in your listings (this is the first option shown).
For your active listings, you'll need to edit each item's WBN/Checkout individually to check off PayPal. You can do this by going to All Active, selecting your items and clicking Set WBN, then selecting one item and clicking Edit WBN -- selecting PayPal -- then saving your changes.

Also, you said I would have to manually add paypal to the WBN for all listings listed while I had Paypal UNchecked in Global Preferences.
Well, I went in to do that and Paypal was already checked off on the WBNs.
So, I do not understand.
I am removing Paypal from global preferences again because I do NOT want it showing up in my ebay listings like it just did when I checked it off in global preferences.
Please tell me how I can offer Paypal through Vendio checkout ONLY and NOT on my Ebay listings themselves (only mentioned in my Vendio description). I do not want it in the Ebay payment section at all.

Me again, LOL
Yes, just confirmed....checking off paypal in Global Preferences does NOT work. Paypal was inserted in my ebay listings. Someone just bought one of them (the nars eyeshadow listing I referred you to in a previous post).
Even though "logo only" was checked off, Ebay sent an EOA with a HUGE pay now via Paypal button in it.
I do not want this. This is why I do not want Paypal listed AT ALL in my listings.
i know there has to be a way to do this because I did it with another auction services (MW). I was able to list on Ebay without checking off Paypal as an accepted payment method. Yet, I was allowed to OFFER paypal for payment via my checkout and insert it in the description only part of my listings.

So you know what I am talking about, this is the email FROM EBAY that the winner of the Nars eyeshadow received (I set my ebay preferences to send me copies of EOAs)

Hi Lori,
Going back to your previous posts, perhaps you can try unchecking PayPal and using the "other" field under Traditional Methods and typing in PayPal in the blank field. A word of warning though, if you do this, your customers will have to go directly to PayPal and pay for the item using the Send Money tab as it won't give your customers a clickable Pay Now button at the end of Vendio Checkout. And you would probably need to put in your email address for PayPal somewhere in your checkout instructions. However they can still select it as a payment option and still pay you that way. You'd need to uncheck the PayPal box again in Global Preferences.
I have a feeling that the item you mention to me might have been from before you changed your Global Preferences around.
Let me know if this works (you might need to see an auction through from start to finish unless you want to change up your settings for an auction that is about to close to match exactly what we discussed).

Sonya,
I WANT to offer Paypal for Vendio Checkout.
I WANT to offer it for Ebay sales also that GO through my Vendio checkout.
I do NOT want paypal entered in the Ebay payment sections, however. Because if it is entered there, Ebay sends an EOA with a paypal button immediately and closing. Ebay also then puts a huge Pay Now withy Paypal button in the listing itself at closing. therefore, buyers do not use MY vendio checkout.
How can I do this? It will not work having Vendio sales have to type in my paypal addy?? That is not feasible and buyers will be angered by that manual process.

I also WANT to continue using Paypal IPN for my orders. AGain, that won't be possible with teh "send money" tab.
I have been checking off Paypal for each individual product listing. Just not checking off in Global.
That has worked on the ebay end. Paypal has shown up in my Vendio description, like I want, and has NOT shown up in the Ebay "payment details", also what I want.
The problem comes when buyers who buy more than one ebay item try to check-out. Vendio combines the items into a Vendio order. Thus, since global preferences does not show Paypal (even though each product DOES individually), vendio checkout is not giving the buyers the option of Paypal.
It IS giving them that option at checkout for single item purchases. It is only when combined into a VENDIO order with a VENDIO order number that buyers are not getting the paypal option.
You can see this by checking all my active listings. Even though Paypal is NOT checked off in the ebay payment section, a quick look at the WBNs set up for each item shows that Paypal is, in fact, checked off as a payment option.
It works for single items, I believe. It does not work for "combined" orders.

See, here is an example
Ebay item 5556532749
This item just sold. If you look at it on Ebay, paypal is NOT chosen in the bottom area where ebay has the "payment methods" section.
However, I did choose Paypal on the product itself in SMIE under payment & shipping.
So, if you look at the checkout for this item, Paypal DOES show up in the pull down menu for payment options, which is good. That is what I want.
Now, if this buyer adds on with an item from my vendio store, the Paypal payment option will go away as Paypal Is NOT selected under my global preferences.

Hello,
I am going to go step by step here to make sure that we are on the same page because it does not seem like we had all the information to fully understand what it is you need for your listings. I did not know that you are having an issue with orders -- if there is any extra information we need to know, please provide it for us so that we can be sure we've got all bases covered and got you set up the way you want to be set up.
I WANT to offer Paypal for Vendio Checkout. Please go to My Account -> Global Preferences and check off the checkbox for PayPal. You have the right selection for logo so you don't have to do anything there.
I WANT to offer it for Ebay sales also that GO through my Vendio checkout. The above step will allow this to happen.
Your eBay site specifics settings in Vendio have eBay Checkout turned on. You may need to scour through your eBay settings and make sure you've got any instance of PayPal removed because I don't know exactly what flags eBay to enter in a huge PayPal Pay Now button in the EOAs they send.
I also WANT to continue using Paypal IPN for my orders. AGain, that won't be possible with teh "send money" tab. You have everything checked off properly in Vendio for this to happen so as long as you have your IPN set up right in PayPal, there should be no problem there.
I have been checking off Paypal for each individual product listing. Just not checking off in Global. This is why when orders get combined automatically for your customers, PayPal is not a payment option. Orders will grab from what you have set up in Global Preferences. Since PayPal is now unchecked, it's not being applied to those orders.
If after you do all of this, you still get a big PayPal button in an EOA, we'll need to test this on our end with the exact same conditions as you to get down to what it is that is inserting this button. It honestly sounds like some rogue preference from within your eBay settings (since you can also store a PayPal email address in there). If this information does not help, please make sure you've given us all information we need to get down to the bottom of this issue.

Hi Sonya,
That is the problem. In Ebay, there are only 2 choices: Checkout On or Checkout on for paypal only.
There is NO way to turn off checkout if you choose paypal as a payment option.
This is the reason why I do not want Paypal in the ebay payment section or the logo. Doing so means that ebay sends the paypal button in the EOA AND puts a "pay Now" huge checkout button in every listing.
The ONLY way to stop this is to not offer paypal on ebay listings.
But I still want to offer paypal as a payment option in vendio checkout.
Looks like that isn't possible with Vendio. I have done it before with 2 other auction service with no problem.
I left paypal out of all ebay listings, but had paypal availabe at MY checkout (through 2 other providers)
