Hello,
how do i set up the print postage feature for endicia that you released today I followed your 3 step directions but I am be diverted to stamps.com and when i do not get diverted i am getting asked to verify a printer ? also will this work when using paypal ipn or do the buyers have to use vendio checkout in order for the shipping info ( Carrier and options) to be included or do i have to go into each and change it for every postage i print out. is it better to go back and add the weights of every item in our invetory and will the system calculate decimals of an ounce. some of our items weigh .5 of an ounce when shipping 3 of them it should read 1.5 ounces but under a simular system that i tried before i was getting hit for 3 ounces 1 for every item which is definitely not needed please let me know if my energy will be wasted inputing weights into 2500 different listings.

Thanks for your help

Hi Sportsource,

If you are using Endicia you can ignore the prompt to verify a printer (that is only for stamps.com postage). I am checking on the rest of your post for you as I am not sure for the rest.

Sonya

Hi Sportsource,

Thanks for your patience. In order to print postage with Endicia, you must have a valid Endicia account, then to download and install the software provided by Endicia. Then, you must enable Endicia from you Print Postage preferences, so that it will appear selected by default. You can then print the postage from the fulfillment checklist page or from postsale.

Note that when printing the postage, the following informations are prefilled from listing:
- weight (specified by seller in section 'Calculated Shipping')
- chosen shipping carrier (specified by buyer at checkout or by seller if editing the checkout)
- buyer's name and address (specified by buyer at checkout or by seller if editing the checkout)
- package type (specified by seller in section 'Calculated Shipping')

You are diverted to Stamps.com when you enable and select Stamps.com for printing, and only if you don't have a valid Stamps.com account.

Regarding being asked to verify a printer --the postsale intermediary page will always display all the validation warnings (in particular, the one about the printer), regardless which of the providers was enabled. We will be changing this in the future as only messages related to the enabled provider should show so you can ignore the message for now since you don't use Stamps.com.

Yes, this works with the PayPal IPN. Printing the postage will work with any checkout method. But, in order to prefill the postage information when printing postage (e.g. buyer address), Vendio needs to know this information. For that, buyer has to use either Vendio checkout or eBay checkout redirect. Any of these can be activated from your preferences at Vendio. If none of them are used, you will have to manually provide the required info (which is only possible with the full UI of the Stamps.com application). If buyer uses Vendio checkout or eBay checkout redirect, the postage information will be prefilled, so you won't have to enter it manually for each listing.

We do recommend that you add the weights of every item in your inventory but it is not mandatory to specify the weights per item. If you are specifying them, they will be prefilled when printing the postage. Otherwise, you'll have to enter them manually each time when you print the postage.

The weights are rounded down by Stamps.com to an integer number of ounces, but not less than 1 ounce. So, 0.5 ounce is rejected (must specify at least 1) but 1.5 is rounded to 1. If you print postage for one such item, you will have to print it for 1 ounce. If you print postage for 3 such items and ship them in the same package (i.e. order with unified shipping), with the rule above the postage will be printed for 4 ounces (3 * 1.5 = 4.5 and rounded down). When printing postage, Vendio prefills the weight from the item info. As long as you didn't specify the weight for an item, you have to enter it manually when printing the postage for each listing launched from that item. If you want to enter the weights for items, probably the best way is to use the bulk editor and possibly the copy down function.

If you have any other questions please let us know.

Regards,

Sonya

Thanks Sonya But it looks like little has changed if you use endicia all it does is is export a file if the checkout was done correctly by the bidder or IPN there are some instances where the addresses/files are not exported at all. I will continue with my old method of copying and pasting the addresses that do not get exported and downloading the txt file from postsale. Thanks anyway Please get back to me about the other post about the 1.30 credit showing on invoice though Thanks again as always your help is very much appreciated.

I get the same response as well.
All it does when you click "print with endicia" is export a file even though i have the endicia program open.

Right but not all the files. I cant figure out why some address are imported and some are not. Going the copy and paste route myself.

Hello,

I have double checked on this and unfortunately, the Print Postage button (when used with Endicia) is supposed to prompt a download of the XML file. Because Dazzle is a standalone application, it is not possible to start it automatically from Internet Explorer (this is possible for Stamps.com as it's a different type of program). So, the file will contain the postage data which has to be opened from within Dazzle.

We will be changing the Print Postage button for when Endicia is selected so that it is more clear what happens when the button is clicked.

Regards,

Sonya
