Hello I have a problem with inventory on a couple of items i talked to Chris on the phone about this last month and he said if i was to run into this again send samples so here is one example i came across today if you need more please let me know MINNESOTA TWINS HOME JERSEY PATCH BRAND NEW. I had this item listing as a fixed quantity of 2 at all times but the Profile Valid Date has expired as of May 31st I think this is where the problem lies.
What happened is a bidder asked if I had anymore of these so when i went to manually re list them i seen that there was one at auction "on Market" after seeing that in the item history box i checked ebay and could not find this patch on market in our Ebay store or on auction. so I listed one manually now its shows a qty of 2 at market even though there is one.
right now our inventory should be correct but if i do add more of these in the future i will count existing inventory of these and add the new batch. so if i had 9 left in the quantities available and added 20 i would input that i have 29 on hand and change the # to 29 at the quantities available field. but when the vendio calculator finally decides to drop that one that supposedly is at market back into inventory now it shows we have 30 but still only have 29 physically.
we have a lot of problems when we get to the end of an item run (when there are 1-2 left in stock) they are usually not in stock even though vendio history reads that there are in stock and I think this is one of the problems The vendio stock calculator is crossing up and listing before one ends and gets put back into stock and they still show active then they get added back in at a later date. Please Check This in depth on this issue as it becomes a very big problem when we have a buyer and we cannot deliver because we do not have it in stock but according to inventory i have 2 sitting in my stockroom.
Thanks again for your help

Hi SportSource,
Thanks for the detailed email, you have obviously taken time to read the history and try to figure out what is going on. That is appreciated.
I looked at the items and your account. In the history of the YANKEES GOT 26 WORLD SERIES CHAMPS SHIRT XL I see that, indeed, it is showing 2 on market when there are none. I also see that a launch attempt on the 5/28/05 got the result "Launch Ambiguous". On rare occasions, if our communication with eBay is briefly disrupted, for an reason, this message occurs. It indicates our system could not be sure if the item lauched or not. To err to the side of caution we assume the item launched, and usually it has.
If it did not in this case, you can manually change your quantity on market at the bottom of the history page. Another reason quantities on market can get off is if you close any items on eBay manually before their scheduled end date and time. If you did this, just wait and the quantity will correct itself at the scheduled end date for the item.
I do see that MINNESOTA TWINS HOME JERSEY PATCH BRAND NEW is also off by one. From reading the history of the item I am not able to determine why it got off. I am going to refer this thread to an engineer for him to review.
If you could Not change these two items for the next day or two that would be helpful. You can list them if you want, but dont manually change the quantities. You should hear back with in 1-2 days.
Thanks for your patience.

Hello Abe, Great Thanks for looking into this i will not change the qty's hopefully you will find the problem as we do not launch certain items that only show 1 in stock for fear of them not being in stock til we physically go through our stock to make sure they are there which becomes a pain and renders the inventory system useless
Thanks for your time on this

Hello Sportsource,
I just want to let you know that engineering is actively looking into this issue. We think it may be related to a bug that had already been filed, and we are working to fix it. We will let you know asap.

This is cool.
Over the past two years I have found that when I get to 1-2 in Vendio-calculated inventory I have often, zero in stock. Has this been addressed by engineers? Because my husband is blaming it on me and it makes me crazy! Thanks for any help on this matter.

Hi Sportsource,
From what you described, you can just manually edit the Quantity on Market. Here is why. On rare occasions, while Vendio is launching items/ communicating with eBay, that communication is disrupted or becomes "ambiguous" for brief periods. This is rare, but does happen, so the case is designed for. If this happens, and the Vendio system is unsure whether the item actually launched, it errs to the side of caution and assumes it did-which it usually has. We seek to avoid accidental double listings. In your case, it sounds like the item actually did not launch, so you can manually edit your Quantity on Market to 0 and relaunch the item. Your quantity on market will then accurately be 1.

OK Abe That should work but do i have to check the 2000 different inventory profiles to make sure that one is actually at market that would be nuts. The way i do things now and the reason i use inventory edition is to see where my inventory is if there is one at market i do not launch another. so between june 30th and today when i was asked about that size i thought there was one there til i checked ebay and seen that infact they were not there again. yes i can manually change the # at market and relaunch my problem is that i do not know which items to do this to til i find'em I might have 10 or 20 items now that i think are at market but actually they are not there just sitting in inventory waiting for me to discover them. Thanks for your help with this but really do not have the time to check all the listings to see if the levels are correct
Thanks for your time

Hi Sportsource,
Sorry for the delayed reply. I definately see your point, but the "launch ambiguous" case should be happening extremely rarely. I recognize that any number of items that you are not offering on the market due to quantity on market being off is too many, but the "ambiguous communication" thing does happen sometimes and we need to work around it. I will put in a request for some kind of search to detect items that should be launching and that have not, or some kind of "refresh market data" functionality. While I know this is something that we are working on, I dont know when it may be published on the site. If you start to see this more frequently, you can let me know directly.
