Perhaps I set it up wrong, maybe someone can help me figure this out.

Example: My standard shipping rates to US/Canada are $3.75 and $1.00 each additional (set up in preferences as a $2.75 discount on each additional item). However, in the post sale checklist postage always comes up as $3.75 for multiple purchases, and I can't edit it.

Also the insurance should be $1.30 for any purchase less than $50 but insurance is charged @ $1.30 for every item.

Here is the question I posed and the response I got from Vendio:

Hello,

I am still confused. Please just tell me what to enter for this scenario:

First Item in combined order cocts $3.00 to ship. Subsequent items cost $1 each to ship.

What do I put in the cost when combined column???

Put $3 into the shipping field and then $1 into the "cost when combined" field, for this scenario.

This seems to be the opposite of what you are doing.

I'm still confused. Vendio, can you clear the air on this PLEASE.

Hello,

Typingmonkey -- I checked your account and looked at order 779683242 for example and noticed it was imported. You would have had to have created the items in Vendio in order for this feature to work out properly for you. Do you have an example of the insurance miscalculation you brought up so I can send it to engineering?

Maineventcomputers -- what we instructed you to do is correct, provided you are launching from Vendio. If you are having problems, please let us know so we can take a look.

Regards,

Sonya

Thanks for your quick response! I will find an example of the ins. problem and post it in a little while.

Sonya, I have an example of the insurance problem in my listings: Order #781002703. I charge $1.25 for the first $100 in coverage, but Vendio has been charging $1.25 insurance per item in a multiple item order. I can't find any way to fix this??? This has only occurred AFTER the recent changes in checkout.

All my post-sale items are now those that have been created by Vendio and I still have combined shipping charges. Please see Order 782445731 - two items which should be calculated at $3.75 for the first and $1.00 each additional. This order was billed only $3.75.

Hello,

Phonecardpro, your global settings are correct and set as you stated, but you have also specified specific insurance rates on the Ads themselves. If you want the insurance to be calculated based on your global preferences, you need to leave those fields blank on a per ad basis.
If you edit your ads to leave that field blank, they will calculate properly. Remember that you can edit items in bulk in so you can go select a bunch of items, click edit, then the shipping and payment tab, click the pencil at the top of the column and edit all the items.

Typingmonkey,

I looked up the cart that you referred to, but could not find the items in the cart within Vendio. I searched by title, SKU, and partial title and could not find the specific items in that cart. Could these also have been recently importe or deleted? If you give me another example, I can try again.

Best,
Abe

Abe, I tried to bulk change in one of my categories in inventory "Personal Care," where I currently have 38 items listed. When I deleted the insurance amount, it changed to "calc." I copied to the other 37 items, and tried to save, but the system said that I now have errors in all 38 listings! The message I get when I move my cursor over the red text is: "Please select a valid insurance cost to use with eBay fixed shipping." What do I do now?

Hi PhoneCardPro,

Unfortunately, because of an eBay restriction you cannot use calculated insurance rates if you are using flat shipping rates and specifying eBay shipping and payment details. If you want to use calculated insurance rates, please also use calculated shipping, or choose "I am not specifying shipping and payment details" under Site Specifics -> checkout link when editing your items.

If you'd like to change that to be the default, click "My account > Ebay > check the "I am NOT specifying" radio button and save.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you!

Bob

Did you try to edit the actual items, if so, which items did you try to edit and launch? Changes the options under "My Account" will not correct all the listings alreay created. Please let me know.

Thank you!
