Hi,
I would like to change from the Merchandising edition to the Inventory edition in Sales Manager. I have been reading through the User's guide for SMIE.

I'm trying to understand if I import all of my inventory from ME to IE then my at market quantities will be correct for my current Ebay listings.

Hoping that is the case. I thought I would have to end all my current listings then relist them under SMIE for control.
I am getting this 'conclusion' based on this part of the User's Guide:

"your 'quantity on market' value for your imported inventory items will be calculated based on the 'quantity available' and 'quantity at store' values from your existing inventory items."

Also:
"your 'market quantity' value for your imported inventory items will be calculated based on the 'quantity at auction' values from your existing inventory items."

So since that seems to say it will include the current listings, there is no reason to end and relist?

Hello,

Sorry for the delay. Your Quantity at Market will reflect your active listings from SMME. You do not need to end or relist items.

Sonya

Hi Sonya,
Thanks. So if one of these active listings gets sold, SMIE will reflect that and reduce my "at market quantity' accordingly? Even though the listing was never created under SMIE?
This is where my confusion lies.

Actually in reading what you said in another post:

I'm more confused, as the two answers are contradicting.

Hello,

I am presently trying to find out if the quantity on market issue is a widespread thing or isolated only to 'dd731'. I am sorry for the delay. Gottaluve if you would like to wait to switch until I find out for sure, that will be fine.

Regards,

Sonya

Hello,
We found the source of your issue. When you did your import, you chose to import "Current Inventory" only and did not import "based on your existing listings". Because your active listings had not been launched from SMME Inventory, they were not reflected in the SMME Inventory, therefore they were not reflected when you imported to SMIE.
To get your SMIE inventory to reflect your active listings, you can "refresh" your Active Listings on your Control Panel. I just did this for you so hopefully your inventory will reflect your active listings as On Market within a couple hours.
If they do not reflect by then, you can reply back and I will see what else we can do. If you really want to see the items now, you could Import again, this time from eBay listings. This import will go into a folder labeled as such. It will also create duplicate inventory items in SMIE, but you can just delete the old ones, or folder them. Do try to wait for the refresh to work though as that would be the easiest fix. Thanks for your patience.

Best,
Abe

Hi - my listings still do not show up as quantity on market - I didn't want to import again because of all the extra work if I can get away without doing that - is there something else you can try since it has been over a couple hours - thanks again

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay in our repsonse. Have these shown up yet? You might want to try doing a second import. Also, what are the listings that are missing? Please let me know.

Thank you!

Bob

Hello,

I do see in your account that your Quantities on Market have not updated. The best thing to do is to do a second import. When you do, Uncheck the first option-to import based on Inventory-and do select the second option, to Import Inventory Based on Existing Listings. Your existing/active listings will be imported into a seperate folder in SMIE and the Quantity on Market will be relfected.
This will create duplicates of those items, but they will be in a seperate folder. Also, this whole operation should only take a few minutes so do give it a try. Let us know how it goes.

Best,
Abe

Hello,

I looked at your recently closed items. I investigated whether those that recently closed were shown as On Market in Inventory, and whether they were indeed On Market at eBay. Of the four I checked, 3 were accurate and one was showing 2 on market when only 1 was. This one: Antique postcard London/Oxford Christ Church.

Three Others were accurate:
Antique Norway postcard-Slottet pre Oslo early 1900's NO
Antique postcard of Mosebacke Square, Stockholm Sweden NO

Antique London postcard Duke of York Column early 1900s

I also noticed that you had changed your View Options in SMIE to NOT see the Quantity on Market Column. Was this on purpose and could you have perhaps mistaken Quantity Available for Q On Market?

In the case of the one above that is off, could you please adjust that quantity manually to be accurate? (actually, if you by chance closed that item manually before its scheduled close date, dont edit manually, as it will update itself later.)

If you are seeing the problem in more places, please paste in some item Titles so that I can verify the problem. Sorry for the frustration. Once you get set up and familiar things should be a lot smoother.

Best,
Abe
