We just started using the new platform last week, and can't figure out one particular quirk.
We have had a couple of ebay orders that show a "ebay reconcile amount" under the total price calculation on the order details screen.
This amount is showing in the "other" box, and is showing on the payment notification email sent to the buyer when payment is received.

For example, a customer bought an item this morning, and paid the correct total amount via Paypal of $42.57. When they received the payment receipt email from us, it shows that they were charged $10.73 for "ebay reconcile amount" in addition to their payment of $42.57.

I had to explain to the customer that they were not charged this amount and that they only paid $42.57 via Paypal.

The question is - what is this "ebay reconcile amount", why is it being added automatically, and how do we prevent this from happening?

Thanks,
Tim

Hello Tim,

I apologize for the confusion that this is causing for you and your buyers. We are aware of the problem, and our engineers are working on correcting the problem. In the meantime you should be able to work around the problem by editing the orders and manually removing the eBay reconcile amount that is erroneous.

Regards,
Nathan

Just so you know, this is still going on. Email said:

I have shipped your item(s).

Item Title : 1976-77 Goldwing GL1000 Mufflers w/ Protectors GL1000L
Item Number : 120731152336
Marketplace : eBayMotors

Item Price : $125.00
Number of Items : 1
Shipping & Handling : $ 43.85
Insurance : $ 0.00
Tax : $ 0.00
eBay Reconcile Amt : $ 10.00

Total Price : $153.85

Couple probs: shipping was not 43.85, but 28.85, so even if this mysterious 10.00 "reconcile" amt was taken off, the shipping was still off by 5.00.

Luckily, he had paid the correct amt. The emails from here are just are screwy: not picking up the correct S/H and this weird, mysterious "eBay reconcile amt".

We've decided not to use the new platform and will cancel the new account and go back to the old platform that we've used for many years. We've found way too many bugs in this and nothing seems to work properly. Payments don't post properly, and we've seen "ebay reconcile amounts and Paypal reconcile amounts, making it a nightmare to try and keep up with. A number of customers got really pissed because their payment notification emails showed the wrong amounts (we had to shut off the automatic sending of these because the amounts were always wrong). This has been going on since day one, and my original post / question was on April 27th. A month plus has passed and nothing has been done.
All in all, the new platform seemed like a good idea, but I don't think we'll revisit it anytime in the near future. it has really been a horrible experience for us.
I do have to say however, that Nathan and Chris were very helpful in helping us with the initial transition to the new platform. I just wish that the engineers and tech guys working at Vendio were as good at doing their jobs as Nathan and Chris.
