This two-disc dvd set includes amazing performances, stunning talks, and scenes from the 2009 International Pedagogy and Theatre of the Oppressed in action!

Hosted on campus at Ausgburg University, the 2009 PTO conference dvd includes highlights of the opening session, including the opening address by Waziyatawin and spoken-word poetry by Tish Jones.  The set also includes highlights of the performance by Danza Mexica Cuauhtemoc community-building facilitated by Jan Mandell, and scenes from the Legislative Theatre workshop facilitated by Julian Boal.

The second disc contains the complete all-conference presentations by popular education leader Deborah Barndt, artistic director Ananya Chatterjea of the Ananya Dance Theatre, and the first- published Hmong novelist Kao Kalia Yang.  This disc also include the performance-talk by poet, dancer, and activist Marc Bamuthi Joseph.

The 2009 conference held electric moments for many reasons, and this dvd set captures several of them.  This dvd set will be useful for teaching, reflecting on work, or even just remembering the events of the conference.  As a very special feature, the dvd set also contains a video tribute to Augusto Boal, creator of Theatre of the Oppressed and dear friend and mentor to many activists and practitioners of Theatre of the Oppressed.

Please note: all PTO DVDs are in NTSC format.  We can only accept returns for defective DVDs.  Returns will not include shipping fees, but replacement DVDs (exchanges) will be shipped at no charge.

Libraries: Please note that all acquisitions for libraries should be the Institutional versions of the DVDs.  We will be unable to ship personal teaching copies to libraries.
