This two-disc dvd set, intended for use in institutions such as university or public libraries, includes highlights of the 2009 International Pedagogy and Theatre of the Oppressed conference in Minneapolis, MN. Disc One features selections from the opening ceremony, including dance performances by Danza Mexica Cuauhtemoc, spoken word poetry by Tish Jones, an opening address by Waziyatawin, community-building work facilitated by Jan Mandell, and highlights from the 2009 Legislative Theatre workshop facilitated by Julian Boal.
Disc Two features the complete all-conference presentations by invited guests Deborah Barndt, Ananya Chatterjea, Marc Bamuti Joseph, and Kao Kalia Yang.
As a very special feature, this dvd set includes a tribute to Augusto Boal, creator of Theatre of the Oppressed and friend and mentor to activists and practitioners of Theatre of the Oppressed around the world.
