  RAD (ReichsArbeitsDienst = National Labor Service) Dienststellenabzeichen (Service Unit Badge). This badge would have been worn by personnel of the 2nd Detachment (Roughly equivalent to a US Army Platoon) of Abteilung 208 (Roughly equivalent to a US Army Company) in the ranks of Arbeitsmann to Obertruppführer (RAD Private to Sergeant). A beautiful BeVo weave patch that was never sewn onto a uniform. The acceptance mark surrounded by the Ges. Gesch. (Patent Pending) designation, with the manufacturer (G. & W.) below. Normally, this would have been either folded over, along with the rest of the excess edging, or cut off prior to sewing upon a uniform. This is an original German WWII artifact.
