Penguin Kisses was launched in winter 2010, and is an online retailer of upcycled baby clothes and accessories. We repurpose abandoned items to make beautiful, boutique-quality clothing and accessories for mom and baby.

We are proud of what we are doing for the environment by using materials that already exist to make our products. We are also proud of our little ones, and want them to be dressed beautifully, in quality clothing. Putting those two passions together meant making upcycled clothing and gear, and we launched our site in winter 2010. We have dreams of seeing this business growing, so keep an eye out for new product lines in the future.

What is upcycling?
Upcycling is a new term for an old practice that refers to taking one item and making it MORE useful in another form. In the pioneer days, it may have meant taking fat from a butchered animal to make into candles and soap, or using a worn-out apron as quilt pieces. For Penguin Kisses, it may mean:
- taking mismatched placemats to make diaper clutches
- using a golf shirt with a frayed collar to make a trendy baby girl skirt
- repurposing buttons off a discarded garment for hair clips

What is precycling?
Precycling, when used by Penguin Kisses, refers to making use of new resources after they were abandoned. A great deal of waste is made by large industries who do not have the resources to utilize their waste. Penguin Kisses collects unused fabric remnants, construction waste and other unused waste for our products. Look for our precycled logo where applicable.
