It is very hard for eBay to stay in denial- that all listings are showing!!
Even http://www.medved.net/cgi-bin/cal.exe?EIND

Has given up on them!

For the last few days Some listings have ran the entire course without ever showing.
Yesterday the auction counter site were given numbers like 56,000,000 auctions listed .

Today Medved QuoteTracker just gave up!

Bottom line this is a real problem.
No it is not the broswer one uses ,it is true with Microsoft, Opera, AOL, Foxfire and Nerscape.

I just hope Feebay finds that last screw that was holding the system together.

Of course we are the losers.

Something was seriously messed up there yesterday. not only did I not sell ONE SINGLE thing, but didn't even get any questions.

And that is EXTREMELY unusual.

Park, my thoughts exactly. I stopped listing last night because it was taking too long for my items to even show in the searches.

I am seriously debating pulling some of the 3 day listings I posted.

Will be interesting to see if we get a free listing day out of this SNAFU.

I wonder if the listing counts shot up from the store items being shown differently in the search results? 40 million store listings seems about right.

The real problem is -- for over a week many listings are not showing at all! It is terrible to pay the listing fee and the auction is never
viewable.
O'Well maybe they will get it fixed ,the tecnicians must have had mid terms or maybe a bad zints week.

No wonder I could not find my item when I searched for it. It must be sprotic, because I have bids on it. But when I do a search for it , it does not show up. This S@#$s, we are really not getting our moneys worth that is for sure, the item that is not showing up has bids of only $50 while similar items that are showing up have bids of over $150. I wonder if ebay is going to give me the difference, LOL... Maybe whe pigs fly right.

Well I've been waiting for over 4 hours now for 4 measley listings to show up ANYWHERE other than My eBay.

While I think it's great that the store listings are getting better coverage in the search, something just doesn't feel quite right about them getting indexed quicker than my auctions. (And they are - I've been watching them show up for the last 3 hours.)

Sorry for the late night rant. I'd prefer to turn this darn thing off and call it a night, but I hate to. I'm curious to see exactly how many hours I get shorted on my 3 day auctions.

Grrrr!

I totally agree as I am experiencing the same thing. Store sales are way up now that they can be found.

Interesting
I have one lot on ebay which is nowhere where it should be.
I have not had a hit in over a day. However I have one low bid.

I will wait until tomorrow and if not better will pull lot.

I also sold some USA postage which went very cheap with few bids.

Something fishy here!!

It will be kind of hard to call Ebay an Auction venue when they have forced all of us into Stores to get visibility on our items.

I am glad the store sellers areenjoying a brisk business, but this Search problem is killing the real auctions. Buyers can not hardly find us.

The store listing's are showing up at the end of the search pages. Auctions are still shown first.

Well that sucks. I was going to launch a bunch of auctions tomorrow. What do you think, should I wait and see if they get this mess fixed first? Leave it to ebay to launch a nice upgrade and completly screw up something else.

Plus it's taking longer for the auctions to get indexed in the search or even show up under "View Seller's Other Items".

It took almost 12 hours for my auctions to show up Tuesday night, but Store items were getting indexed and showing up sometimes within a matter of minutes.

Like everyone else, I think it's great that the stores are getting more business, BUT I just don't think it's right when their .03¢ GTC listings are getting indexed faster than my .70¢ 3 or 5 day listings.

I sell in a category that went from having search results of 530 items go to over 2300 listings.

Personally, I think the buyers are going to get very frustrated trying to wade through all those listings; especially since the gallery pics aren't showing for the store items anymore. This could end up being detrimental to all of us in the long run.

Ditto TN, I was starting with 3 day listings for quick turnover, but for the past week, indexing may take hours and which means wasted precious time. I like to list between 7 and 10 pm CST. If those auctions take more than an hour to index, they get buried in these huge search results really fast.

Where do I send the below?

Dear Ebay,
When I list an auction and you charge me a listing fee, I expect it to be visible, within it's category, for anyone interested.

My last listing was not available for days, resulting in myself pulling the listing so as not to give away a 60.00 lot for .99.

I am disappointed in you and will hesitate to list again, and if I do will surly check to see if available for prospective buyers.

Well I thought I would give dead help (live help) a try and see what their canned response would be to this problem. Bellow is a copy of the chat I just had. Note he said that it can take 2 to 6 hours for a item to show up in search's.

Shaun: Hello, my name is Shaun and welcome to eBay live chat and I invite you to
please share your feedback with me about our chat today by filling out a brief
survey when we are finished. How may I be of help today?

mikes4x4andtruckrepair: Hello, Give me a minute to type my question
please.

Shaun: Okay

mikes4x4andtruckrepair: I was going to list a bunch of auctions this
evening. I am afraid to list them though with all the problems you are having with
the ebay search. I know multiple other sellers are having problems currently. They
launch a auction and it takes either hours or day's to show up in the ebay search's.
Store items are visable almost immediatly but auction items are not showing. Is
this ever going to be fixed??? Should I just list my items for sale in another
online auction site until you get your system fixed. It has been completly wacky
since you upgraded to show store listing's in all searchs. It seems that store
items are the only items that search's is working for 100% of the time, auction
items are hit and miss and most of the time seem to be a miss.

mikes4x4andtruckrepair: If I list a item and it does not show up in
search's how can I get a refund for the listing fee if it does not show up?

Shaun: One moment please.

Shaun: Please allow me a moment to review what you have typed for me.

mikes4x4andtruckrepair: No problem.

Shaun: Each day, we run several indexing cycles for Search. During these cycles, we
update our search engines with new listings, bids, and other information. Between
the time that you list your item and we run an indexing cycle, your item may not
appear in all searches. It can sometimes take between 2 and 6 hours to update into
our search database once your item has been submitted. Please know that this is the
same for all members on eBay and will vary with each item listed. If you are wanting
to request listing fees if the item does not show in search within that time period.
You can contact our billing team. I can provide you the contact details for them.

mikes4x4andtruckrepair: 2-6 hours is one thing but recently items
have not been showing up in searchs 3-4 day's after they were launched.

mikes4x4andtruckrepair: Many sellers items are not even showing up
when they click on their own view sellers other items.

Shaun: If that is the case, please bring the situation up immediately in live chat
so a representative can take a look at the issue currently at hand and you can
request that you would like credit for the listing.

mikes4x4andtruckrepair: Ok, I guess I will try listing a couple
tonight and see how bad it is.

Shaun: I apologize for the inconvenience, is there anything else I may possible be
of assistance with today?

mikes4x4andtruckrepair: No, that was all I needed.

Shaun: Thank you for your time and for using Live Chat. Feel welcome to come back
to Live Chat if you have any questions or concerns.

Shaun: Have yourself a great day

Well I thought I would give it a shot and launch a couple of auctions and see how thing's turned out. I launched 9 auctions about 1 hour ago and all nine have multiple hits and most have watchers already. So for me it looks like they are showing up in the search fine.

LOL Mike at least your "live" help session was a little better than mine.

I contacted them Tuesday night about my listings not showing. At first the girl acted like she could really do something and went to check on why my auctions weren't showing up. She said there must be a problem. Then she came back with a totally different attitude and said it could take up to 12 hours to get indexed.

Either way, this new and not-so improved search has definitely made a difference. This is the first week since the middle of January we haven't had a 100% sale through.
(We quit listing first of November and just started back)

Hello,
My item did not show in FOUR I say again FOUR days. So I pulled it.
I also had a disaster sale on another lot which I "Suspect" was not showing. You have a LEGAL responsibility to insure all lots listed are available for viewing by prospective customers. Last but not Least a 24 hour lag time between listing and showing is unacceptable. No wonder a three day listing do not do well. My take is quit double talking and FIX it.
