I have the basic store right now and am thinking of upgrading to the Premium.

What is the real advantage besides the lower insertion fees?? I am really looking for more exposure, the lower insertion fees are not really a selling point for me. My sales have been very, very slow, but I am not convinced that this is due to lower exposure in the search. I have done a search and my items are always in the top couple of items.

What is the advantage of giving Ebay $34 more each month?? If it will help sales, I will do it especially now around the holidays, but is there really an advantage other than lower insertion fees.I am a TSR and get the 20% discount, but since I am not selling very much right now, 20% off of FVFs is not very much.

Thanks!!

arent there some powerful software for premium store which is not available to basic store?
If yiu have many items to list, premium store is cheaper, esp if you have many low price items.
There is an AMZN seller who said she lost her premium store status and she cant afford the listing fee of 20 cents each as she has many many items.

My main concern is increased visibility. I have a lot of items to sell, but many duplicates and I can list multiples (2, 7, 8, etc) of the same item under one listing for the one insertion fee. They are not low priced items. My sales have been very slow, but it could be the entire category.

Also, you pay 12% FVF for store item sales and less for auction items.

I am not sure I see the advantage to upgrading my store, but I thought perhaps I had missed something.

You do get some extra programs. I don't think there is increased visibility. The primary advantage, if you aren't interested in Sales Manager is the reduced listing fee. I don't have time right now, but at some point it is more cost effective to have the premium store for the 5 cent listing fees. If that's not your motivation, then I would just stay basic.

Every time I end a store listing for what ever reason, a message comes up after I have given my reason for ending a store listing..."Upgrade your store subscription for more exposure"

So... I thought I might get more exposure if I upgraded.

As it is now, I am paying $15.95 per month, 20 cents per listing no matter the quantity of items in each listing.

FVF for stores listings are 15% for books, 8% for electronics and 12% for the rest (plus declining %s for all). So, I do not see a real advantage to upgrading except for the reduced insertion fees and the # of listings would need to cover $34 per month extra subscription.

not everyone qualifies for premium store,so ebay may be saying if you upgrade to premium, you are leaving the basic store crowds in the dust.

I think rather than upgrading and listing everything I have in inventory, not to mention closets, boxes, etc. I will take advantage of the free 100 listings every month for nonstore owners (another account). That is such a deal, you save much more than the discounted insertion fee, no subscription fee and less FVF. It is a win, win, win.

I upgraded to an Anchor Store during the last fee increase. I have over 10k items so it is cheaper for me to pay .03 vs .05 listing fees & the $300 store fee. My sales are up but I can not prove that it was due to upgrading to an Anchor store or if it was due to the fact that it thinned my competion due to the fee increase. If eBay keeps increasing fees (IF....now that's funny)it really won't matter because none of us will be able to afford to use their venue.

This is what I think Ebay is heading,Ebay and AMZN are both prime real estate and they know it.
The more established stores with good merchandise and pricing will push the marginal sellers out.

I upgraded to a Premium store so I can list my brains out for the holidays. I will let you know if the "perks" are worth the extra up front money. So far, little sales.
