When you use eBay's insurance, the postage cost is NOT covered by insurance. $20.00 sale, postage $10.00, damage in shipment, cost me $10.00.

Well sure..Insurance is replacement cost for the item. shipping, packaging, etc is part of the cost of doing business and is on the seller.

If you use a private insurer,say U-PIC,you can buy enough insurance to include shipping,insurance,packing etc.

On the rare occasion that I had to file a claim with USPS, they covered the postage cost.

The same was always true of paypal as well.
