Seems like ebay is limiting how many items you can sell by imposing seller limits, even on sellers with good history.

Yep, happened to me. Top rated seller 5500 + fb, etc, etc. when I called them about the reason for the limit, they said: blah, blah, blah. They said all sellers have limits they just do not know it unless / until they reach it & Ebay makes it visible.

I only believe half of what they say.

Lost: I have a store, still limits. When they first did it to me, my selling limit was less than what I was paying for in my store. They increased when I complained. They do not know what they are doing.

Even if sales are slow, and they sure are, Ebay keeps offering me 25,000 free listings which I cannot use due to selling limits. The more you list the better the chances of selling something.

If it is free, why not try? And since the listings are free, you do not have to start at a low price. We all know how counterproductive that can be.

Doesn't ebay see that's it's hurting it's on bottom line by limiting sellers in good standing??
Do you ever get the feeling that a bunch of monkeys are running ebay.

well,Ebay owns the venue,if all of us list more, there wil be more listings but not necessarily more buyers.
It has to be more than just good seller,it has to be good merchandise, merchandise which sell.
A poor economy is the reason for slow sales, and throwing more items on Ebay would not help ,there is already too many items for sale now!

I'd like to know where are all of the buyers. Seriously, I have not only seen my sales slow down, but I have seen my hit and watch counts drop significantly over the last month too. Of 32 transactions in April, I have feedback from three.

My question to eBay is where are the buyers?

You are not alone, many sellers have the same questions.
Where are the buyers?
Some have switched to selling instead of buying, some are shopping on other sites ,some just run out of money.
I read that Kmart and Sears are taking over Ebay, someone complained all they see are items from these stores, could it be true,if so,the buyers are buying, just not from us.

I did some buying on and off Ebay,I used my Ebay bucks to buy some fragile labels, and some DVDs but I prefer to buy new clothese and new shoes elsewhere.
Well, correction,I bought some tank tops on Ebay.

Ebay is running the risk of micro-managing their way out of business. Look what happened to Blackberry once king of the smartphones, and what is happening to Apple now losing market share to Android . Anytime you restrict the marketplace too much, the market will find other ways. The word gets around quick and people will find other venues. The markets must be as free as possible. Yes there are always scumbags out there, but if you have a proven record you shouldn't be restricted.

The reason they are micromanaging with over 100,000 rules is -they let anyone sell.
Anyone can sell any thing is not a good idea/
But with the new defect rules, some of us would not be selling on Ebay.
