Dumbya is taking a one month vacation starting today.
I'm not sure yet what that means, but it's without precedent.
In just a few months he's alienated most of the world, found that congress is kinda' disagreeable, seen his supposedly successful missile defense system test exposed as a sham (they had a homing beacon aboard the target), and received word that his gallup poll approval rating had continued to fall to 52%.
I guess all of the success so far has worn him out.

long article there, 4 very short paragraphs, mostly about cows, didn't see it in the national news like the New York Times.

I like the last line: the beacon says "Here I am".
Guess those will have to be sent to all of the 'rogue nations' as essential to their supposed impending attacks.

You are right. It is a shame that so many man hours went into this test, and many of them (several I know personally) had no knowledge of this aiding device.
While a lot of data will be useful, the US will never accept such aided systems, however realistic one claims them to be.
Send up not a Minuteman II, used earlier this month, but a MM III, the best in the inventory, and see how ABM can affect that.

Sure! Instead of wasting it on a useless misle program, why not give everyone a raise? it'd help to improve the economy and guarantee Bush the military vote next time.

There's something funny going on about the silencing of the MIT critics and the withdrawal of their contracts. Links describing the scene that were live yesterday are coming up as "forbidden, not available through this server".
Are they clamping down on the press? They jailed a reporter yesterday for refusing to turn over her notes in one case and questions are coming out concerning whether Ashcroft is directly involved.
The helicopters are being brought up to a hover.

Hell, it's their conservative media -- they can do with them whatever they like!
Of course there's a precedent in place. During Clinton's Impeachment Hearing an article by online Salon Magazine reported that Henry Hyde had also had an affair, the republican response was to send out Sen. Trent Lott and face the reporters and told them point blank that if anyone in the media dared to support Clinton in that manner again that he was going to sic the FBI out on them to find out why! That interview on the steps of Congress was repeated over and over again -- so that the entire media completely understood what could happen to them. Only Larry Flynt of Hustler Magazine dared to stand up to them and told them and the FBI to go to hell! Since then, the media has been very careful not to expose wrongdoings by the republicans. Can't say that the media is stupid.
