Agreed 100%, and I honestly did not care about the Monica affair. That's his own personal life. What I cared was the way it was handled. He should have said no comment, or admitted it, and moved on. Heck, if people can forgive George W. for a drunken driving incident (which also is a very serious lapse of judgement, and a STUPID thing to do) then this would have passed. Plus, it was his second term! Anyway...

President Clinton took a two week vacation...like most Americans.
Hillary had him on a short leash...idle hands and all that, yanno??? Just like most Americans..... !!!
You democrats have the greatest selective memory, bless your little collective hearts~~
Next time be sure to get out and VOTE

ahc3, you are sooo right, but the stupid mistake, on his part, was not telling everyone to pound salt when asked about his personal life. It's (was) nobody's business to begin with.
I always thought the (most) stupid part was when he set his wife up to go out all over public television and proclaim the whole affair as a Republican plot even after he had to have known that he wasn't going to be able to keep it a secret much longer. No wait, I guess that wasn't stupid... what's the word I'm looking for? Maybe selfish...cruel...heartless... I don't know, maybe stupid is the right word after all? What would you call it when your husband screws around on you with a woman less than half his age and then sets you up to look like a fool?
If my husband pulled that crap on me he'd only wish all he had to worry about was a bunch of rabid Republicans.
Not paranoid anywhere else but here!

But, Mybiddness, he and his wife have to stick together, they have such a history of mistakes (that is being kind) if they divorced or separated and didn't present a united front goodness knows what stories would be forthcoming! just like most Americans~Democrats, that is.

I've always been amazed at all of the woman who stood behind Clinton and believed he could do no wrong. It didn't seem to matter what he did to his own wife - cause as long as there were no visible marks it was nobody's business.
Frankly, I don't care how many woman he had under his desk, but I find it extremely difficult to understand how a man who could hurt his own wife so deeply and purposely is still revered by so many as some kinda saint... When he sent her out to take his heat for him I'm quite sure he knew that she had political dreams of her own... but he still let her go out and defend him. What a man!

Have you been in DC during August - ugh! I don't blame him for leaving...
I'm in DC in August at the moment, and I don't blame him at all for getting out of town. It might even rate as the most intelligent thing he's done since assuming office. But if I was trying to get away from heat and ugly weather, I sure wouldn't head for Texas. (I've been there in August, too).

When he had her address the topic zilvy? Hillary's no slouch.....I doubt she would do anything she didn't want to do. She loves him and forgave him.....which is their business. I, personally, think he did the best he could under the circumstances, and so did Hillary.

Sure, taking a vacation from DC during hot, muggy August is a great idea. But what about the other 2+ months he has taken off during the mere 7 months since he became President? What possible reason/excuse could one have for spending almost 50% so far of his term on vacation?!?

I very seldom become involved in anything political because it is all so asinine, inane and anal retentive. And I am also vexed that you (all Bush bashers) have to bring your forum to every bloomin thread no matter what it started out being about. Ya know that?

Your point is? There must be an echo in here...krs is at a loss for words?
Spousal privilege is the key to the Clintons togetherness...as long as they are married they cannot be called upon to testify against each other! Ergo Hillary suffers the slings and arrows of her misfortune and carries on....

I prefer to base my opinion and vote on qualities such as intelligence, political beliefs, voting record and leadership ability.
George Bush fails in every category.
Furthermore Bill Clinton has more character in his little finger than George Bush can ever hope to achieve in a lifetime...even if George never has sex for the rest of his life.
All of you who are so titilated by sex and hold it in such high esteem...to the point of voting for an unqualified candidate are a bunch of narrow minded fools and deserve to have George Bush as your "president."

Helen,
I think you're one of the most intolerant posters in this forum. One of the reasons I'm discouraged with the forum. You seem to have a problem with the fine art of disagreeing without being disagreeable.
Sort of like I'm being now.

Couldn't have said it better, now that the dynamic duo are back in the saddle together there will be no peace on earth or goodwill to people other than trailer trash!! Keep reading, I am sure 12 books a day will make you a better person and much more qualified to become a spokesperson for the human race.
By the way as an outsider, how do you feel about the human race??? Oh, never mind your

Which translates as the dynamic duo (she hasn't the nerve to say just whom she means by that) only have goodwill toward what she calls trailer trash (implying that this dynamic duo has a kinship with and so is trailer trash) but that this dynamic duo are outside the human race (subhuman?).
Is that about right, zilvy, you sweetie?
