i have yet to have any problems with it. well, in the beginning the application would freeze and you would have to do ctrl-alt-delete to end task.

joker: After my experience, would YOU go back and do it again?

blue: I have posted my full explanation a whole lotta times, and you can find them on
these boards.

why not? the way i read your posts, you are assuming that the reason your hard drive crashed was because of the download. and also from your posts, it seems that this is the only reason you are so opposed to them. i still think you should give them another whirl.

Your BidBar is not virus laden. We have thousands of them downloaded so far. There is a user here who supposedly had a problem with one of our first ones about 2 months ago. As you may know it could have been his hardware. Anyway I have left my phone # for him many times but he will not respond. I will assure you there is no virus in it. We have a large inhouse design team and our servers are state of the art Dell, Intel and Cisco products. All are housed at exodus communications. This user is just trying to scare everyone, yet he will not call me directly. If you need to speak with me you can reach me at 775-886- or [email protected].
I do think however it is time to turn this matter over to our attorneys because this user is making serious accusations that he can not substantiate.
Thank you

I openly welcome any inquiries by your attorney.

KNOW however, that "THIS USER" is well equipped to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that lowestbids bidbar cost him time, money, and data.

Make sure you know "This Users" field of expertise before foraging into the threats of such an act.

You play on these boards, but I will eat you alive in a court of law if you thik for a minute that I can't prove my allegations.

REMEMBER, "credibility" alone will go a long way, and I have credibility, and technical expertise, as well as being able to "disprove" credibility on your part.

I tried to let this drop tonight, but you will have no part of it. You continue to hound me.

I don't want to hear your empty threats of legal action. I WANT you to bring it. PLEASE. I BEG you to bring it.

Then, we will have no need to talk about the "ex" lowestbids site ever again.

notice, I DID NOT STUTTER!

You make a threat to me, and you DAMN well better be prepared to back it up!

Was there something about my "nudge" last night you didn't understand? Something about pattaylor's moderation call this morning you didn't understand?

We've asked nicely - on several occasions - and yet you persist with disruptive and combatitive posts. Now you've taken a thread and turned it into a battlezone based solely on who originated it - not acceptable. If you have a problem with another User, then use that handy little ignore button - I'm sure you remember how to find it.

Tread cautiously - keep this up and you're on your way to a self-inflicted 30 day exile.

pocono, for the most part, i think everyone wants you to prove your point. we have heard you say that it was the fault of their download, yet when asked if you can prove it, you haven't said anything.

like i said before all sites have glitches, even ebay and yahoo. it just seems, imho, that you are taking this one over the edge.

moderator, i am sorry now if this post seems like i am attacking pocono. i am just trying to summerize what a lot of posters probably would like to know.

Is the whole issue with lowestbids a software conflict problem???

Windows 95, Windows 98, AOL 5.0, AOL 6.0 (etc.) all have caused problems with SOME users because the users do not properly maintain their computers regularly (scandisk / defrag / run anti virus regularly) Also, if there are conflict problems, they need to be fixed before installing ANY new software (microsoft products are some of the worst to cause conflict problems)

I wish I had a nickel from everyone that claimed a software program caused hardware problems (can't happen) --- it is really a user problem (improper maintanance / installation)

If I was to download the bidbar, I would definitely scan it- just like I scanANYTHING I install on my computer- from ANY source. There have been computer viruses unintentionally installed on CDs along with programs by respectable software companies - and sold to consumers. Some new computers have been unintentionally sold with viruses already on them (from the pre installed software)

I am amazed with how few people know that they need to maintain their computer and run certain programs regularly to keep the computer running optimally.

Sorry moderators - I thought I would try to clear this up - I will try to not get off topic again.

pegasus, you pretty much nailed it on the head. the problem that he says he had was that the bidbar had a 'malicious virus' (his words) that caused his hard drive to crash. however he has been unable to prove it to anyone here yet. i haven't had any problem with it yet. i also have some friends that have it on their computer and they haven't mentioned any problems to me.

I have been a computer ENGINEER for 15+ years, including having served as a guided systems analyst in the US armed forces.

I design and have built network systems for major industry and government, as well being personally responsible for the building of 10,000+ personal computer systems.

I have FORGOTTEN more about computers then either of you will ever know, so again, you need to know someones background before speaking, so as not to appear so "uninformed".

I really wish that the moderators would look a bit more closely and see that this "faction" has continually dogged me, continually trying to draw me into a "confrontational" post, so as to get me removed from AW.

Well, at least the USERS here see it, and I thank you all for your e-mail support.

It is indeed a shame that you are afraid to voice your true opinions here on these boards for fear of retaliation by staff in defense of a "paying advertiser".

But I thank you all just the same.
At least I am not the only one who see's it!

Having said this however, according to AW CGs, as explained by the moderators, I CAN address the COMPANY itself, without having to fear being moderated.

Thanks for clearing that up

.

i dont know about everyone else pocono but i just all i did was ask a question of you that i think a lot of other people want to know about too. i have in no way tried to be confrontational, and i am sorry if it has seemed that way.

going back to the question it does seems weird that you haven't been able to prove why your hard drive crashed as a result of lowestbids application. you said that it had a virus in it yet when asked to prove it you haven't answered. now i, as another auction site user out there, want you to prove it. like i said before i haven't had this problem that you are outlining, and i've had my bidbar up since mid-late october.
