You might try the toll-free numbers for PP listed here

FWIW, if a company chooses not to employ live customer service support, their customers really have little recourse other than to vote with their feet or take punitive measures...

As I said further up this thread, internet business is really a new frontier with a lot of growth and change ahead of it...

Pat,

Both A & B meaning - my husband opened an account and hooked our savings and credit card to it.

I and We have our HOME address attached and that is where we requested the money to go to. No changes.

I want to clarify something here - My husband and I CANCELED his account yesterday - so that gave me the ability to then hook up my account -- then I completed the transaction of requesting my money.

SO - this issue is no longer getting my money although knowing what I know about PayPal I would not be suprised to see more problems arrise.

The problem and my complaints were that there was NO ability to get them to READ my emails I sent to their customer service. THEY DONT READ THEM - they look for keywords and press a botton to respond.

No ability to send a fax - the fax number they emailed me to use to send proof of who was permantently busy.

And NO posted phone number anywhere on their site.

And the worst is that their attitude is so bad, disconcerned and abusive in twisting peoples stories around on this board.

Paypals attitude to their customers are "you are guilty, not us - unless you prove otherwise" It is the proving -- with no access to them that drives people nuts.

It may be the year 2001 -- and they may think they are top. But I tell you there is no way possible they will survive when they abuse their customers.

SO that all being said -- they have really made me very angry and I will make it my goal to spread the word -- there are many places to do that.

Hi timberlake,

I am getting the 800# for you, but the information is on the web site under the HELP section (you have to be logged in to get the correct number, as there are two numbers, depending on the account type you have).

The number is:1-888-221-1161

You can contact me at my email address for an alternative fax number (which is not at the customer service center).

Hi camachinist,

Thanks for your comments. This situation is resolvable with some dialogue with the user, but I can't cover specifics on the boards.

From what the user posted, I see:

1. Wants to withdraw funds out of the PayPal account.
2. User has not verified the information yet, which is going to impact their ability to take it out of the system.
3. They have another account active with bank account information attached. PayPal accounts can only have one bank account attached per account, as this is a security measure in our system (the same standard applies to credit cards).

I am trying to guide the user towards help and explain the policy for the benefit of users that might be reading the thread.

Glad it worked out, although with some measure of effort on your part....

Great education for the rest of us...

paypaldamon

As the user has solved her problem, it would seem things are concluded here...thanks for the clarifications.

If I may, just one thing further to help this verified Paypal user....
You wrote:
Our withdrawal policy does require that a user verify their address through credit card confirmation before withdrawing via check (verified users can withdraw to any street address). PO boxes are not allowed for withdrawals. These measures are in place to deter fraud and to verify the address information for the user is correct.

As a verified user, although all the addresses for my all verification information documents are a PO box, can I withdraw funds to "any street address"?
You state this in the context of another sentence in the above quote but I wish to be clear on the matter as possible.

Per your TOU:
--------------------
Withdrawals.
* (U.S. Users) Once a User has confirmed an email address and registered a bank account or credit card, a User may elect to withdraw all or part of the balance of his or her account by direct deposit into the User's bank account or by physical check. PayPal limits the number of mailed checks per account to one per day. To cover the cost of processing checks, PayPal charges $1.50 per check withdrawal. Check withdrawals are not sent to P.O. Box addresses. In addition to our policy of not sending check withdrawals to P.O. Box addresses, check withdrawals are only sent to users’ credit card billing address, unless the user is Verified, in which case the user may choose any street address. If a user would like a check withdrawal to an address not accepted as approved on the website, the user may email customer service at [email protected] and produce appropriate documentation before a check will be sent to the requested address
----------------------

As a verified user, it looks as if I would have no problems either EFT'ing a withdrawl or receiving a check to any address.
However, it also appears that, if I was unverified and my CC billing address was a PO box, I would be completely unable to withdraw money from my account.

Is this correct?

Resepectfully, I believe, from what I've read on the boards, that this is an often misunderstood rule and one which many users object to. I hope those reading this thread will be better educated....I know I certainly am!

Hi loggia,

Sorry if my interpretation, based on the fact that I actually work for the company and understand our policies, doesn't fit with what you think it is.

I find your posts disruptive to the point of potentially confusing other users about how or why something happens.

(Correct. Users can't withdraw to a PO box as one of our anti-fraud measures. Users can, however, confirm a physical street address (if they don't want to provide credit card information or add a bank account) by faxing over documentation supporting the address the check is being sent to.)

If the toll free number to PayPal is needed, all you have to do is go to the help screens and find it! It is posted right there.

I find PayPal to be the best online payment service there is! To avoid problems (similar to what is noted on this post), all you have to do is follow the terms. Just like any service. If another checking account is needed because of joint accounts, just open a free checking account.

If you are a business, then get the PayPal debit card. Its free. You use it like any other card. Also you can withdrawal your balance at anytime. Very simple service.

I have always found the customer service to be very helpful. Of course, I don't bother with e-mails, I contact them via their toll free number.

And No I don't work for PayPal. (everyone here seems to enjoy claiming that if anyone likes a service, then they must be working for that service. Well sorry, I don't.)

Here's how many of my customers work around the PO box thing at PayPal:
Add the street address of your post office, as in:
John Doe
3520 Any Street
PO Box 1276
Your City, USA

I see this on payments every day. Since about 70% of PayPal users remain UNverified, you have to be creative.

You might give it a try to see if it works.
