For nothing more than entertainment factor, I emailed you the URLs of the quotes. Now let's see if you give that appology.
Please do not accuse me of misquoting again and please do not ever call me ignorant again.

Oops SORRY Joice... I did think we could put other links here. My mistake.
Canvid, as I had already told you, it is on the ezboard twin started. You can go there and see it for yourself. And you will hopefully see you DO owe us an apology.
Joice am I allowed to say the name of the thread and not the link??

Hello, since I am the one being vilified here, I'll throw my $.02 cents in.
AuctionGuard, you are correct in what you quoted. If your quotes were not verbatim, (and I expect they were), they certainly represent the words expressed.
1) "spam the boards" The person who posted that suggested putting links in the message boards to the discussion forum. He was immediately criticized for the remark by another poster. It was obvious to me, and the poster acknowleged, that his post was tongue in cheek. For my part, whether you call it spam or not, I don't see anything wrong with a link in a message forum. That is not spam, if it is related to the topic. However, endless posts with no purpose other than, "blah blah, email me for the URL" are most definitely spam.
2) "Those interested in participating in the planning can pay a $100 'initiation' fee to take part in the committee." That comment was made by me, paraphrasing Jamie. While he may not have said those exact words, they were (in my opinion) the gist of what he suggested. If you read the threads, which have since been deleted, you know that I strongly opposed the idea of collecting money at this time. In fact, that very issue was one of the causes of the split which resulted in two message boards.
3) Regarding a $5,000 membership fee. There was a discussion of how to charge customers, whether listing fees, FVFs, membership fees, or a combination of the three. Most powersellers spend at least $15,000 per year in fees to sell at eBay. A $5,000 membership fee is roughly ONE-THIRD of what eBay would charge. Got that? Much, MUCH less than to sell the same through eBay.
My idea was to minimize final value fees, to encourage migration of eBay's bigger sellers. I won't repeat the entire arguement, it's there for anyone to read. One suggestion I made was a tiered membership, something like this:
Notice that, according to my suggestion, as the membership fees increase, the fvf fees decrease. According to this plan, we would be undercutting eBay's fees by about half. Also notice that at the lowest level, which is approximately $100/month (less, actually), the fees are not unreasonable. These were just numbers thrown around for the purpose of demonstration. We would need a cost estimate in order to establish exact fees.
Certainly we want to provide for casual sellers. Membership would NOT be a requirement to sell, though non-members would not vote, and pay higher listing fees and FVFs, more in line with what eBay charges.
"Your complaint about censorship was deleted." The fact is, the complaint about censorship was made by a disruptive troll who logged onto the board under several different IDs. While it makes a good sound byte, in fact I had already banned that user from posting. It was my decision as administrator of the site. I can also tell you that the same person who made that comment is permanently suspended from AW.
AuctionGuard, if you had taken the time to read those posts that you quoted, you might have come up with a different perspective. I don't know if you didn't have time to read the threads thoroughly, or if you simply want to poke fun and ridicule. Five thousand dollars a year in fees to someone now paying twenty thousand is a bargain. It's a no-brainer. Obviously I'm not suggesting that everyone pay that amount. Read the thread before you comment; don't go there just to find ammunition.

twinsoft, I certainly wasn't looking for ammunition, just posting some of the thoughts being covered in the discussions.
You are definitely a better diplomat than your partner! I respect your efforts and certainly wish your project the best.
