fenix - I've checked the time frames.
I posted my question ...the one that started all this...at
9:15AM
then as I returned to the thread and noticed that I'd typed in should..rather than shouldn't. And according to Vendio time...that edit, because of my typo, was done at
9:18AM
YOU didn't even start with this craziness until your post at
9:25AM
I wasn't 'pulling' anything as it appears you are trying to imply. You didn't respond until AFTER I'd made my edit. It's not like my edit wasn't there BEFORE you read and c&p'd my post. Because it WAS.
I know you've been overworked lately...but this is so unlike you and imo, totally uncalled for.

Think Linda - how could I have copied the original version if it was not there at the time? Unless you think I have the psychic ability to know where typos once existed, obviously I copied the quote before you edited.
I saw a complete misrepresentation of my statement and reacted to it. When you saw that I had copied the uncorrected version all you had to do was point out the edit.

Linda is it so hard for you to understand that I read something and reacted to it never thinking that while this was going on you were editing it?
My statements came about because of that situation. You can take this defensive crap and your codensending remarks about how I must be having a bad day and shove them. I read the words that existed and responded to them. I copied and pasted the words that I read and you never bothered to point out that they were no longer an accurate representation. Not my fault.

I didn't BECAUSE I didn't even understand what in the world you were talking about - so upset about. My first thought was, "Did I do a boo boo [typo] so I wanted to see my own post. I looked through several threads...as we've been mixing discussion of one topic into others...
I knew your position on stem cell research. No doubt in my mind what your position was. I even asked you a question in one of the stem cell threads...that you chose not to answer.
That's why I couldn't understand why you'd be accusing me of mis-stating what you'd said. Why in the world would you do that, rather than get a grip on your emotions and just ask.
Then when I return to this thread...you're having a hissy fit. And I not only was surprised I didn't know exactly WHY you were saying the things you were. Didn't make sense to me at all.
THEN I started looking for the thread, looked in many, trying to find what you had posted [the should, rather than shouldn't]. But I couldn't find it.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I'm trying to appease YOU because you're continuing to accuse me of things and I don't know why. So I keep rephrasing what my point was...why I posted the question in the first place....
which WASN'T to mis-state your position.
But as I said...you're going balistic. Not just ASKING me...throwing out all kinds of accusations that were false.
And even now...after I'd already explained what had happened...you still choose to believe I was trying to 'mislead' you in some way.
Your accusation of my intent couldn't be more wrong. And I would have thought after all these years we've posted together..YOU above all would not be jumping to such conclusions/accusation...especially without asking RATHER THAN ATTACKING immediately.

Linda...a sincere request.....
You have a history of misquoting and misinterpreting my statements and then refusing to back your allegations up. I have noticed that Kiara has had a similar problem with you and now, you are having the same problem with a statement by fenix.
I sincerely hope that this instance in which you seriously misstated the meaning of fenix's remark and then had to revise and backtrack and edit ---that in the future you will take care and be prepared with the actual statement BEFORE you allege that something was said. It's obvious that you cannot always rely on your memory or how you may interpret statements or how you may think another poster " feels". You can avoid this confusion, embarrassment and misstatement of fact by simply having the quote at hand along with a link.
You are always reluctant to admit your mistake whether deliberate or not and the ensuing course of another poster's defense against your unsubstantiated allegations or at times what appears to be fabrication is time consuming and nasty...as fenix so accurately described as a "bitchfest". You can avoid this if you will just tell the truth and be able to back up what you report.
Thanks for your consideration of this request.

fenix and I had a mis-understanding. Period. Something happened in a short few minutes and imo, she mis-understood my intent. All because of a type and the time involved for me to correct it.
NOTHING more.
Don't ever think for even ONE tiny second...that I have EVER given you or kiara the respect I've always held for fenix over the years.
I have NEVER mistated anything anyone has said here....and I sure as heck didn't in this case. I knew her position on stem cell research and had no reason at all to be trying to make it appear otherwise. Her position was clear to all....even me.
So take your big black pot and keep stirring....but you're not in the same catagory I've always held fenix in. That's why this so surprise and saddened me. You and kiara saying anything, never saddens me because I don't CARE ...it's always been your pattern, helen, to lie.

linda...the only poster who misrepresents what others say and feel here is you. You've done it now to someone who ordinarilly handles you with kid gloves and because of that she had your respect. No, helen, you misrepresent the situation again. But no surprise there.
fenix and I have had many, many debates. SHE has always had the ability to maintain a CIVIL debate, stay on subject and disagree with all my positions without all the other garbage YOU usually bring into the forum.
The 'special glove' treatment you see...is in YOUR own mind, helen.
Most likely because YOU can't have a civil conversation with anyone on 'the other side', without getting into all the other garbage. So you perceive that any one who can...treating is treating the 'enemy' with 'kid gloves'.

The easiest way to gain supporters is to "Hate" the same thing. It was used a lot in marketing several years ago.
What happens is this, people that would never even give one and other a nod become allies "for the cause" because of their dislike for something. It’s a triangle, there’s a name for this but I can’t remember it at the moment. Any help here?

Teamsters President James P. Hoffa, breaking his estrangement from the White House, praised President Bush on Tuesday for attempting to fix Social Security and said Democrats were wrong to oppose any discussion until Mr. Bush drops his personal retirement accounts plan.
Mr. Hoffa said preserving Social Security's long-term solvency and pension retirement reform were major concerns in his 1.4-million-member union and that he was willing to work with the administration and the Republican majority in Congress to come up with bipartisan solutions to both issues.
His words of praise for Mr. Bush's efforts were seen as another sharp break with the AFL-CIO and its president, John Sweeney, whose policies and leadership are being challenged by Mr. Hoffa and several other major unions.
"Social Security is a major problem in this country. We have to make sure that it's preserved for those that come after us," Mr. Hoffa said in an interview with Gannett News Service. "I think President Bush should be given credit for the fact that he has initiated a debate regarding what we should do."
The once-cozy relations between the Teamsters union leader and the White House have been virtually nonexistent over the past couple of years, and Mr. Hoffa campaigned against Mr. Bush's re-election. But some White House advisers saw Mr. Hoffa's words of support for the president's efforts as a calculated move to show that the Teamsters are willing to work more closely with the administration and Republicans on issues of mutual interest.
"I think it's a huge olive branch to the White House and I hope the White House grabs it," said Derrick Max, executive director of a coalition that is lobbying for Mr. Bush's reform plan.
