Try $5.15 for federal, even worse than you thought! Ohio's minimum wage is only $4.25. Try living on that and see where it gets you.

To see what the state minimum wage is where you live, you can check it out here:

It's shocking!

Yes, I agree. My view is that many try and *make* everything a race issue, which is sad to me.

One the new cases....yes, we're still seeing them coming on the 'rolls', some call it the 'doles'.

And like I've said before my opinion is because they aren't being taught to take personal responsibility for their OWN choices.

Just like here, on our threads, we have two grandma's whose children are receiving state/federal aid. Maybe there's more, who just aren't as open and honest about their childrens situation.

But the question is WHY? Because of the choices those adult children made. So since they chose to take the road they did...we should now have to support them? I don't believe that's fair to those who take care of themselves and their own.

Many years ago when we didn't have such easy access to taxpayer funding supporting these people...they were more likely to NOT place themselves in those situations. And when they did...their own families took care of them...or their children when into orphanages. But now...everyone knows...just apply and the government will take care of you. That's what many American's have grown VERY tired of. That's why the republican party's platform is to give a 'helping hand up' not a 'lifetime of help'. But we're oh so mean, greedy, etc. because we believe all adults should be made to stand on their own two feet.

As far as the minimun wage for each state goes...here's a link to a map that shows which states have higher minimum wages, which are at the Federal level and which are below. TWO...ONLY TWO below.

I'd also like to include myself in that 'granny' list. I have stated several times, in the past, that my Granddaughter's mother [not my DIL] has also been a user of federal and state assistance.
