Etexbill, why wouldn't the unemployment numbers drop. Like mingotree just said. You forgot Bush and the republican houses failed to extend the unemployment for millions of Americans. These people are no longer counted remember?
Its true everything is just fine for millions of short sighted, self centered Americans. I am sure you know a lot of this type, the ones that say as long as I've got mine why worry about anyone one else. This type of person seems to be a large part of the republican's base.
etexbill, Enjoy the good life in the great state of Texas for as long as you can. Ya hear. Don't forget be sure to come on back and let me know about all the good unemployment figures. But most important make sure your tell the unemployed how good things are at the bread lines you mentioned.

EtexPill says, ""The unemployment rate is 5 percent. That many people are on welfare, sick, or just too lazy to work.
(Neocon's simplistic braindead response to unemployment , they're just lazy)
Everyone in my area is doing fine. ( Do you really know EVERYONE IN YOUR AREA? REALLLY ? Are you talking about your backyard or a town .... a city? Everyone?)
Free health care to the needy, free transportation to get to the Public Health Facility, church and county food to any needy and the Salvation Army's new facility will give you free room and board and 3 months or more training.""
If everyone is doing fine then why do you need these services?
posted on July 25, 2005 08:24:39 AM
Yep, everyone is doing fine, especially the 5 percent who need these services. They are doing great with job training, free room and board, etc. I'm sorry about your sorry, a** regions of the country. Spend a little of that tax money on helping the ones who need it. Better, yet, peepa, and CF, what are doing to help?? I'm volunteering. Get off your liberal, whining, bu**s. Stop asking the government to fix things that will be happening as types of jobs change and start doing something yourself.

Hey good for you Etex you're starting to sound like a DEMOCRAT!
However the George Bush Mafia believes in giving tax money to those who need it least.
What am I doing? I'm giving a larger percentage of my wages in taxes than a billionaire does ?

ROFLMHO @ that statement.
Gives it to those who need it the least??? LoL How about giving it back to those who actually overPAID their taxes....not the ones who didn't. It's THEIR money...no one elses.
But with the way the far left just LOVES income redistribution....they see it as their money....to be spend how they think it should be spent....rather than being returned to those who overpaid their taxes. Socialism....plain and simple.

I'm not the one whose preaching for/supporting socialism.....income redistribution - you are.
If you overpaid a bill, say a tax bill....I'm sure you would expect the full refund yourself. Not have YOUR refund divided between those who hadn't even paid for whatever you returned.
We're based on whoever EARNED the money...gets it back. Not those who didn't....and maybe didn't even pay ANY taxes.
It's common sense....something I'm quite aware you are severly lacking in.

LindaTwelveK you're babbling (as usual).
""We're based on whoever EARNED the money...gets it back. Not those who didn't....and maybe didn't even pay ANY taxes.""
No, dolt, the problenm is that the richest people have a COMPARATIVELY LOWER tax burden.
Percentage wise they pay LESS.
Do you know what that big word"percentage" means oh dumb one???
I doubt it and that's your problem.....but carry on Queen of Fascism!

As you well know, I'm not speaking of federal tax money to help your local situation. We use our local taxes to help in these situations. I'm again sorry about how you apparently waste local taxes in your areas.

I only have one area and how would you know what taxes are wasted?
Very odd statement.
Taxes are also wasted on giving huge tax breaks to corporations and the ultra rich in this country but little bitty people like you are too scared to go after THEM

No....MT hasn't denied she's crowfarm.....but she really didn't need to ...her hatred for all thing/people comes through loud and clear.....daily.
Speaking of taxes....wonder how much tax crowfarm has to pay while either not working....or posting here during her work hours. No wonder she was forced to take a $9,000.00 cut in pay. Few companies pay employees to spend the day typing on chat boards.

Well I see both LONG_ON_BULL_TEX and Linda_Link have nothing left to say so we will all watch LONG_ON_BULL_TEX jump over LINDA_LINK.
Hey Linda_Link when you get the unemployment figures for the next few months let me know. I and others will be watching.
Until then I GOT BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN READ BOTH OF YOUR BLAH BLAH BLAH NOTHINGNESS.

Now that's a laugh too, peepa.
You can't grasp what fenix was saying to you.....
you can't grasp the previous stats from the dept of labor showing that employment has increased for the past 17 months...
you can't grasp that the unemployment rate currently [June] was the lowest it's been since 2001.
You didn't understand what the two articles etexbill posted for your benefit.....because of YOUR lack of knowledge...
So I sure don't understand why you think I'd give you the benefit of the doubt that you'd understand the upcoming stats from the dept. of labor.
YOU just don't GET it. You're too blinded by your hatred to see many economists say we've got a strong economy going. You'd probably like to see it fail....just so you could say, "I told you so". Rather than see our economy keep growing ...AS IT HAS BEEN.

From the NYT
by Edmund L. Andrews
Published: July 13, 2005
WASHINGTON, July 12 - For the first time since President Bush took office, an unexpected leap in tax revenue is about to shrink the federal budget deficit this year, by nearly $100 billion.
-----
And guess what? That wasn't because a 'raise our taxes' democrat got in office....it's because things are going much better and MORE revenue came in that was expected. WITHOUT THE TAX INCREASES THE DEMS WERE SAYING WOULD BE NEEDED.
Yep....we're getting along just fine...without the tax and spend dems in office.

No matter how you want to slice and dice it Linda. Bush turned a surplus into a deficit.
The White House's goal is to cut the deficit in half -- from the $521 billion it originally predicted for fiscal 2004 -- by the time President Bush leaves office. Budget watchdog groups like the bipartisan Concord Coalition say White House budget projections are suspect since they leave out long-term costs for the war in Iraq and other factors.

LOL.....no matter how hard you Bush haters try....you cannot change the facts of how our economy is chuggin' right along. The sky is NOT falling.
And logansdad, be clear....there was a PROJECTED surplus....but following 9-11 there is NO PROOF that PROJECTED surplus would have still be there. It wasn't cash-in-hand...it was a projection. And I'd bet that reasonable people don't think that after 9-11 that our projected surplus would have been different even under a dem president.
You need to get in touch with a little reality....and off the blame game. Our economy is doing VERY well....especially when compared to other nations who haven't even suffered though a recession, two wars and 9-11. Look to Europe....we're doing MUCH better than they are in many areas.

Linda_K, when are you going to get it through your thick head its not Bush we dislike its his running of our government, the Iraq war,and your lies.
We all know the U.S. economy is doing great for the rich Americans while the middle/working class is falling behind.
THE AMERICAN ECONOMY IS NOT DOING WELL FOR ALL AMERICANS ONLY THE RICH. QUIT TRYING TO LIE TO US AGAIN,AGAIN AND AGAIN.
Your finished old woman. You can laugh, make bold type, copy and paste links, make faces all you want. The fact is your finished.
Bye,bye old HATEFUL one. YES...
Logan on the news tonight they were saying the price of gas has "leveled off" to a per gallon price $2.30 average nation wide. WOW AREN'T WE LUCKY!!!!!

Linda you are wrong. In the fiscal year ending 2000 there was a surplus not a projected surplus:
President Clinton announced Wednesday that the federal budget surplus for fiscal year 2000 amounted to at least $230 billion, making it the largest in U.S. history and topping last year's record surplus of $122.7 billion.
And there is NO PROOF THAT BUSH WILL BE ABLE to trim more of the deficit unless you have a crystal ball that will see into the future.
You need to get in touch with a little reality....and off the blame game.
And like you haven't. Perahps when you start maybe others will follow.
Look to Europe....we're doing MUCH better than they are in many areas.
Why don't you just compare our economy to that of Iraq? We are also doing much better than they are. At least we have water and electricty
You are more concerned about what is going on in the rest of the world than you are here at home.

As you can see the nation went from having a surplus to a deficit of almost $570 billion under the BUSH PRESIDENCY.
So do you still stand by your earlier comment that the CLINTON SURPLUS was only a PROJECTED surplus.

etexbill, you must be talking about many of the countries that the U.S. falls far behind in how their tax money is used to provide a better live for their citizens.
Of course you know the U.S. is ranked 25th or 26th behind other industrialized countries on how well their citizens are provided for from their tax money paid. Other industrialized countries have health care for all, they have medicine for all, they have better retirement pensions and living conditions.
If you know all that and I am sure you do. Why would you make your stupid comparison with European and American gas prices? Your comparison just doesn't make it.
Remember you where the one to bring up Europe not me so before you say it, no I am not going to move to Europe. I am staying right here in the U.S. and fight everyday to destroy the greed I am seeing from many people with your mindset.
Just what Americans pay in lousy health care programs/insurance/drug cost will pay for a lot of $4.00 per gallon gas and still have money left over.
Lets just say the average American buys 100 gallons of gas a month at $4.00 a gallon that is about $170 a month more per month than we are paying now. To most people if they didn't have to pay or worry about any health costs or cost of medicine and had a better retirement living. 4 bucks a gallon for gas is a bargain.
