Sorry for my temporary absence, I get busy now and then. I know my return is always relief to those who need guidance, no matter how opposed they act.

krs

In the past, we have covered the arguments regarding debasement of online auction ability and experience based on eBay feedback rating. Remember the DNF threads regarding how those caught up in the "Community" propaganda rapidly begin to rate a person's knowledge and abilities by a number affixed to a person's ID?

A comparison to such absurd reasoning would be; believing a person's self-defense prowess is less than norm, and definitely not greater, if they wear glasses.

Take my word, my eBay rating is definitely not indicative of my level of knowledge and ability, nor is it factually representative of my experience and ability in the online auction arena, no more than a high number is.

Regarding your statement,

" I know that you drink quite heavily in the middle of the night, but don't you think that you could do yourself the favor of reviewing your posts in the cold morning light so as not to continue to make such a fool of yourself,"

you need to insert a smiley-face or some sort of disclaimer of fact. Even for you that is a little too heavy and will be deemed to be factual by readers. It just so happens, I rarely consume alcoholic beverages, and when I do it is usually a fine brewed imported beer with a good Mexican or Chinese dinner.

As for my retort to the comments that initiated this thread, apparently, and surprisingly, you are unable to detect a contradiction when the contradiction is in a form similar to an anagram.

Shelly jumped in my thread with her two cents, I jumped in her's to return her change.

Also, I am still waiting for you to present corroborative facts that prove what I have said is not factual. You're being quite obvious you are bobbing and weaving and attempting to create diversion so you can escape.

Although facetiousness abounds in many threads, "kheicat" had never been able to present an intelligent argument regarding any of my subjects/comments.
Oh that's too funny Mike. LOLOLOL Seriously funny! I guess the last few arguments, especially the one before last where you ran off with your tail between your legs DEFEATED has escaped your rose-colored self-serving memory. YOU have offered nothing of intelligence in the form of POSITIVE commentary. Ever. Critical condescending preaching? Plenty of that. Plenty of attacks as well on ALL who DARE oppose your opinion. And certainly the words huffed are well-read ones but since the attitude they are relayed in is like to pig crap it all falls on deaf ears and you have defeated your own purpose of trying to make yourself sound better than everyone. To the contrary, as I said before, you sound like an a@@.

I'll take the warning if there is one coming but everyone knows he's an a@@. LOL

So it's to be 'Poor Mikey" is it? Lost in a fog of his own gasses.

As to: In the past, we have covered the arguments regarding debasement of online auction ability and experience based on eBay feedback rating. Remember the DNF threads regarding how those caught up in the "Community" propaganda rapidly begin to rate a person's knowledge and abilities by a number affixed to a person's ID?

I was not referring to any numeric count, only to the fact that you, in ebay persona, appear in my feedback and I do in yours. Those result from my having purchased some trifle in your attempt at auctioning, more out of a spirit of encouragement than out of any desire for the item. I think it was ten bucks or so, and I threw it your way when it appeared that noone else was going to bid on any of your four items in that single endeavor of yours.

If I seem to be attempting to escape to you, fine, think that. I've given up any hope that you might see that all I've tried to do is curtail your self destructive path toward personal embarrassment.

First this is change ? For posting to your thread?

Lessee you've posted more nonsensical bs here that I want to count, and had absolutely nothing to do with my original post here.

I must be quite older than you, as you said, that my little 'gem of wisdom' flew over your head.......

I said, but replaced words.... here it is:

Never wrestle with a pig. Because you get all dirty and smelly. Nobody wins, and the pig [b]LIKES it.

IN OTHER WORDS: When you play someone else's game, you stoop to thier level. It lessens you. Our getting sucked into your little diatribes would be analagous to wrestling with the aforementioned barnyard critter.
"Nobody wins" and we are a little less for the expierence.

Do you understand that now, did that one fly over your head? My mother would say things like this, ya know, those little 'gems of wisdom'.

But I must have grown up in a way different generation than you, if you'd never heard that before.

I honestly don't know who you are, you could be some kid that is 20 or so, my daughters age, trying to stir up trouble, and end up, well, like kiheicat mentioned... either tail between your legs, or locked threads, or screaming 'Moderater!'

While I do think it is rather kind of KRS and ShellyHerr to try and excuse Mikey's behavior, I must ask that his behavior NOT be linked to his age.

Well to conclude this thread, as it started..
I did get obsessive about finding the guy who negged me, I found him, refunded, he did the same as I have found a lot of men, boys, whatever have done: Are you married.... and flirting, nothing serious, nothing stalking about it.... but they did, and I shined it..
But it did bother me...

But that was not the whole thing... I have become somewhat? (no a lot) disappointed? with ebay. And I decided to 'retire' from it.

Well I did take advice from some good people I did take down my 'Me' page. I was going to UNregister myself, I guess thats kinda NARUing oneself? lol, whatever, but thought, no, don't want to do that, I think that I may want to bid sometime!!! LOL! but selling? no.... I loved it.....I had fun, it was work.... but dang... I said it in another post, ebay throws its weight around very unevenly.... never consistent, punishes those, I believe don't deserve it, then lets others slide by, that everyone else can see is totally wrong....

My brother put a radio up once, not long ago, (he's a hardcore ham guy, and worked on all type radios) he put in description, that it had 'extras' , knowing that radio guys will know what that means.... it means... he put the 'funnies' in it, he made it like a ham radio, now the amateur radio guys DO NOT like this, and one of them, first off, asked him if he would shut the auction and sell it to him, if he didn't he would turn him into ebay.... well my brother didn't shut it down, but ebay did, because this guy turned him in..... SO, he went looking, and found the same type thing going on ... and these auctions still running! Well he wrote to all the different ebay addresses, and told ebay of these 'illegal' auctions, and NOT A DAMN thing was done. So... he asked me... will you put this radio up for me, not saying it was modified, (which IS a plus for CBers) and so... I did. Well it went for a very decent price... I did not mention the modification (sorry sarge, deception? maybe)
BUT in the picture, in a very good close up, I showed the modification. At the end of auction, I told the person who bought it that it was modified... he said, yeah he knew and thats WHY he bid so high. I was not shut down. Sure I could have turned myself in.... but didn't. Am I a dishonest seller, because I did that one thing, and the buyer was pleased? maybe.... I don't know. But I don't like the way ebay discriminates the way it does.... it doesn't matter if your a power seller, or small time seller, whether you've been on for over 3 years when it was Auctionweb or 3 weeks.

I can't articulate enough what is going thru my head..... I don't think I do well in messageboards, I make a lot of mistakes, I called sgtmike someone elses name... I don't come to the round table, I don't 'know' anyone here... I think there are alot of neat people here, but I don't do well in the battle of wits or whatever that has occured.

I do go faithly for the past 8 years to a med support group... no sarge, not a mental one and they are old friends, and I even met 3 in person! and it was great... but we have a lot in common, for medical conditions we have had for a long time.

I do like reading these boards, there is a lot to learn here, more people from ebay, whether buying or selling should come here... there is a lot of wisdom here..

So like the subject says, it is too much for moi.. that was the subject, not all the other stuff that went on.

OH and I am not discrimatory on age! I know there are tons of intelligent, bright 20 somethings! and younger! You guys are our future! BTW I am 41 and 1/2 yrs old
and I've never been good at user names, not that creative, theres been some good ones here, so I've always gone by Shelly Herr, (oh yeah, I do, I go by 'NearTheSea' because I HAVE to live by the coast. I get ribbed a lot in this group I go to.. I despartly, for a long time, been looking at real estate on the coast of North Carolina, they bug me about that alot . But then, I think, what? I am on the coast! I live 5 minutes from the Sound! LOL!) But in RL everyone calls me Shell.... so there!

edited to say, god God all those smileys in this post bout to blind me or something! accccck! (smile) lol

On a note echoing others here I also have enjoyed your posts and hope that you elect to stay. Battle of the wits skills are not a prerequisite...and you can always just ignore the sarge, lol

Shelly, it was years ago and seems like a lifetime but it was a wonderful time. Over a hundred actors in an apartment complex built for them and many many parties, most of which I don't completely remember, lol
It is beautiful there indeed, but where I live now is even more beautiful... Maui.

Having witnessed and having been involved in uncountable real life experiences, I am prone to forgetting that most have only seen some pictures or read some stories. Therefore, when I state something that confuses and confounds, especially if lacking indicators to denote humor, I must always remind myself that the subsequent diatribe is a reaction of fear and self-indictment for not having the ability to understand or know beyond an average level.

Life's library is huge and has many books on many subjects and I have read many. I must force myself to remember that most people in their entire lifetime will only have stopped by a magazine rack a few times and glanced at a few articles.

k I was selling on eBay, and other areas, while you were still chewing on your teething ring. However, there you go again, implying that only online experience counts.

I am eagerly awaiting the posting of the information you have gathered that will absolutely discredit the information (I) have posted regarding TOS and consumer law. Surely you are as capable of finding and issuing facts as you are at disguising your lack of having exact information.

Being that you desire to be the advocate for the down-tramped, do so by putting the thread back on track by providing the information that shows I am absolutely incorrect.

kiheicat, thank you for being honest an voluntarily providing the confirmation.

Sorry Mikey. It's a waste of my time, and nothing to do with anything you have said. or are likely to say, would restore this thread to track. You derailed it at the outset.

Until your last post, it was regaining original intent. Why don't you start a new diatribe of your chosing and leave Shelly's thread to Shelly and her friends.
