I believe that experience or association with someone having a particular name may influence your preference for certain names. But it's silly to say that you dislike a person based only on a name. It's the individual that counts...not the name.

I doubt that Dave deleted his post because someone "emailed him". He probably saw that KD was unhappy with his response and so he deleted it. What's so unusual about that?

After we, you and I, had just had a conversation in the other thread about what your intentions really were in starting the 'who has posted the most' thread.
And YOU, KD, SAID - "if you want to believe I started it because I had a hidden agenda to slam you, you're wrong."
And I still gave you the benefit of the doubt...even though my gut feeling was that you had done that intentionally....
So I said: "This is one case where I'd like to be very wrong about your intentions, KD. I sincerely hope I am."
But be very clear now, KD, you have removed ALL doubt I ever had by starting this thread immediately following the above mentioned one. I think your intentions in BOTH threads are VERY clear now.

Since my post was seen....
no one emailed me I looked at the thread a few minutes later and found kd had meant it as a joke so I deleted it out of courtesy to her.
Yes I dislike LindaK as well as anyone else who seeks to limit my civil liberties and questions the integrity of those who disagree with her flat earth viewpoint.

I used to kill time in an office by making disgusting phone calls to women with my ex-wife's first name............
It was mildly entertaining, sorta like crank yankers, but more intense.
One time I was drinking beers with an ex-tenant. We crank-called another ex-tenant's 8 month pregnant wife and asked her where Vince was, 'We're waiting with the dancers down at The Web', (his local bar, in LA). She screamed and dropped the phone. A year later we found out she ran three blocks and came through the door of The Web at full tilt and took ***** offen his stool on the fly, with a hot skillet. It's a good thing she was so small. My bad.

Dave, just for the record, I admired and agreed with your frank answer. I also failed to see the joke but in consideration of the problems that Linda was having adjusting to a near win in the "who posts the most" thread I decided to try a diplomatic answer instead. We all know that's not my forte but I did the best that I could.
Of course there is truth in my answer. I now dislike the name based on my association with linda and would never name a child or a pet by that name. At the same time, I would not dislike anyone based on my aversion to the name itself. Maybe the joke is that the question is silly, just like the thread which frazzled linda so much. If you read the first two pages of that thread you will see that it started in fun and was quickly diverted to a personal attack by LINDA.
Just as a name doesn't define an individual, the contest for number of posts doesn't define the quality of those posts. Being judged on the number of posts should not bother linda or be seen as an insult. I certainly don't see it that way.
If it does bother linda, she might be comforted by the fact that she has been here almost three years longer than I have and so she posted less frequently over the long haul. Linda joined Jan. 6, 1999 and I joined April 1, 2002. Linda posted 481 posts less that I did. She should be proud of that record and I hope that in the future her goal will be to increase that gap significantly!

I AM proud of all of them helen. It's just you and vicious maggie that say differently....or imply differently.
edited to add: What 'bothered' me in that thread was the lack of honesty from maggie once it did turn out you had been here one year less than I, and that it was you who had the most posts in almost a years less time. THAT LACK of being able to accept the FACTS as they truly are...HER denial...her lack of character in the way she was handling herself...IS what I had a problem with. Her right to act as she wishes....but then she decided the end result didn't turn out as she THOUGHT it would....and was 'dancing around the room' about - as she later stated....then she became vicious and THEN decides since she doesn't like the outcome - she's changing the 'rules' SHE set.
Hope that makes clear MY...position on the matter....so no one else has to tell others what I think/feel or why I reacted the way I did.
Have a good day....but TRY to be truthful ...just once in a while.

You MO is to take things said to you in a negative manner, to always assume they're attacks. As I said before...it wasn't an attack....it was me sharing MY version of events in the old days. I didn't tell any lies...didn't mistate anything...and I still see it exactly as I stated.
What saddens me helen is that for whatever your personal reasons are....you just have such difficultly admitting you really cared for krs. Your choice, of course....but for me I guess part of that is what I see as your ability to remain in denial about so many issues you and I see so differently.
And it also saddens me that in those days you did so admire him and he was respected by many posters at that time...I wasn't one of them who felt that way about him, but that doesn't matter. And now you've sunk to admiring/respecting/saying you enjoy the posts of someone like mingotree/crowfarm. I don't know how to say it delicately....but WOW...what a difference in the level of character between those two - it's like an insult to krs's memory here.

Oh...so you're acknowledging that sometimes...you forget things. VERY GOOD helen...you're always just so sure you've said something and you KNOW that's how it is....maybe some of those times too, you not only forget things stated YESTERDAY ....but are wrong because of your short-term memory problems on other issues too.
I'm so glad you remembered you were here in 1999....not 2002 as you stated. Good girl!!!

That's hilarious, linda. If those values are important to you, I suggest that you try using them.
Stop your efforts to lie and smear.
Stop trying to shade the truth with spun tales.
Stop accusing posters of making statements that they never made and ones that you can't back up.
Stop telling everyone here what they think because you don't know.
You take care of linda and stop whining about what others are saying about you.
If you can follow these few suggestions, maybe, just maybe you can live up to your professed ideals.
Right now, you do not in my opinion.

You and I rarely agree on anything...but they are values that I have and do my best to stick to. I'm human and sometimes I don't live up to them the way I might like to.....but HEY....at least you're coming around. BEGINNING, when reminded with proof to remember more and more.
I think that's just GREAT, helen. I'm so proud of you. Now you can gain back some of the credibility here that you've lost in recent years. I'm just SO proud of you.
